"I got a letter. I got a ticket. I got through 9 3/4. I got on the train. I'm not a muggle!" I said to Professor McGonagall.
"I'm afraid you are, Miss Frank." She said. I was sitting in McGonagall's office on my first night at Hogwarts. "The hat is never wrong. We will have to do some tests to see if you truly are a witch."
"That was embarrassing," I said thinking about how the Sorting Hat rejected me in front of everyone. "Muggle!" He had shrieked. "Who let this muggle into Hogwarts?"
"I am very sorry that happened," McGonagall said.
"What'll happen to me if I am a muggle?" I wondered aloud. "Would you send me back home?"
"I'm not sure..." McGonagall said.
"Oh," I mumbled.
McGonagall thankfully let me sleep in her office my first night. I had breakfast there too. I couldn't go back and see everyone.
"Alright, Frank." Madam Kimberly, the nurse said loudly as she came in. "Open your mouth and say 'ahh'." A spark appeared out of her wand that flew into my mouth.
"Yech!" I shrieked coughing.
"Sorry," Kimberly said rudely. "Spit in this cup." She demanded shoving a cup into my hands. I did.
"Why does she need to do THAT?" A loud voice said by the door. A tall, brunette boy with blue eyes stood at the entrance.
"Not now, Mr. Fitz!" Kimberly shouted.
"I have a note from Professor Gorden in Herbology." The boy said handing out a piece of parchment. "I have a 'rainbow flu' according to him. I'm to stay here overnight."
"Perfect! A person to keep you company overnight!" Kimberly said sarcastically.
"I have to STAY here?" I asked.
"Yeah," Kimberly said flatly. "The potion you drank earlier today makes it so you have to."
"Why? what was in it?" I panicked.
"Nothing deathly," Kimberly said with an expression that got me worried.
As soon as Kimberly left, the boy turned to me.
"So why are YOU here?" He asked.
"I might be a muggle," I mumbled.
"Oh, you're that person?" He asked, looking amused. "I heard about that."
"Oh, joy," I said sarcastically.
"I'm Milo. Milo Fitz." He said grinning.
"Mavis Frank," I mumbled.
"That's a dark name." He said happily. "I'm in Hufflepuff. First year."
"Cool," I said. "I'm a first year too. I don't belong to any house."
"Yeah, DUH." He said.
We talked for an hour. Well, he talked. He would have gone on, but Kimberly came out of her office.
"Mavis Frank." She said.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"You are a muggle." Kimberly said flatly, then turned on her heels and walked away.
