Kimchi's Diaries 2: Shady culprit

And here’s the continuation of “Kimchi’s Diaries: Dangerous Fa(n)scination”! For those who didn’t sleep since my last diary, here’s good news – continuation! But is it really for your good? Part II of the diary: We finally got a long vacation from our company and we were going to not very known village Hwang-ya. However, was it really a good idea? Besides fun we were caught up in the mystery of the village, which later had unpleasant consequences... But soon I understood that this was more complicated than I ever imagined.

5. Rose or thorns?

Never in my life I experienced so much stress like today. But before I fainted, I recognized hand that grabbed me. It was nice, familiar hand.

“Heejun-ah!” I cried and threw myself at him, but I tripped over my twisted ankle and landed awkwardly on the ground. I can’t count how many times I fell down today too.

“You’ve heard my lovely voice,” Heejun laughed. “You’re okay?”

“Where’ve you been!?” suddenly I got angry. “We’ve been worried to death! I’VE BEEN.”

“Sorry...” He put his hands up. “I couldn’t move.”

Only now I saw that Heejun was trapped in something like vines. If not for the seriousness of the situation, I would’ve laughed. He was levitating in strange position like a puppet. Then again I heard this growl and realized it came from Heejun’s stomach. We exchanged looks and this time burst out laughing.

“Anyone would think you’re some kind of wild animal,” I said, calming down. I reached into my pocket and gave Heejun chocolate, which Seungjun gave me earlier. He ate it delighted. “How did you end up here?”

“When I asked you to hold onto my things, I heard something,” he started explaining. “I know I should’ve gone get you first, but I was curious. Then I stepped into this trap. Funny, huh?”

“Not really,” I stated.

“What happened to you?”

Again I told him my story. Every time I was telling this, I was feeling strange, but this time I began to feel anxiousness like I should’ve kept everything to myself.

“Are you crazy!?” Heejun shrieked so loud that I tripped, while standing still. “Of course we should tell the police!”

“Okay, I understood... Now, let’s get you out.”

This wasn’t as easy I thought it would be. What was more irritating, I got entangled too.

“Okay, hyung. On three. One, two –”

“Watch out! That’s my kidney!”

“Why are you worried about your kidney now?”

“You’re drilling your foot in it!”

“Well, sorry about that, but you prefer my foot in some other place!?”

Thankfully we freed ourselves before our argument got worse. Now the problem was how to get to the surface.

And that problem was quickly solved too.

“Are you there?” we heard Seungjun, and then they lowered a rope to us.

“Heejun-ah, you’ve been there the whole time?” Youjin asked shocked.

“Kind of. But we’re free thanks to you. Let’s get to Inseong-hyung and get out of here. This place is giving me the creeps.”

We safely reached Mr. Lee’s house and began the meeting with him.

“So you’re saying it was a murder?” he said, when once again I finished my story. I felt like I’ve changed some facts, but that’s not what worried me.

“You’re really saying we’ve to stay here till tomorrow’s evening?” I asked uncertainly.

“Yes. This is small village. We have transport to the city only once every evening. Don’t worry. Local police will investigate, if they’ll find the body, as you said.

I had a strange feeling that he didn’t believe me. To be honest, even members didn’t see the corpse.

“You believe me, right?” I said, when Mr. Lee left us in our room. “I wouldn’t lie about something like that!”

“We believe you, don’t worry,” Youjin said. “Even if you saw it wrong and it wasn’t a body, someone pushed you and Inseong to the river. There is something suspicious here.”

“Why don’t we sleep?” Seungjun yawned. “Look, Inseong and Heejun are already sleeping.”

We agreed and laid down. I talked with Youjin for a few more minutes, then fall asleep before I realized that clingy Pokemon was in action again and had mistaken me for a pillow.

I woke up after an hour. I got thirsty and went downstairs to get some water from kitchen. I scratched my head, not fully awaken. When I was drinking, I heard noise and turned.

Before me stood tall hooded man, who asked me with familiar voice:

“Rose or thorns?”

I froze, and he stretched out his hand to me.
