14. Emily's P.O.V

Mum led me to my room and there was a stunning silver dress with blue trim hanging next to my bed, it was beautiful and exactly what I wanted, I will thank Fiona when I see her.

I went into my bathroom, had a shower then changed into my dress. I looked beautiful and it wasn’t because I was allowed to be with Jackson but because my life was now complete. Mum walked in and saw me looking at myself in the mirror. “Emily, you look absolutely stunning and I have news from your father...Jackson will be walking you down the aisle to be presented.”

“Really!” I said excited as I looked at mum.

Mum smiled at me then hugged me. “Yes but first your hair needs to be done then the ceremony will be starting.”

My hair got done then an hour later the ceremony was about to begin. I walked down the stairs and Jackson was standing there waiting, he looked very handsome in the formal ceremonial attire. He had a humongous smile on his face as he watched me walking down the stairs, he asked as I reached him. “Is that the dress you wore when we met?”

I laughed and said “Kind of, your mum made it.”

“You look absolutely beautiful, Emily...are you ready?”

“As long as you’re by my side, I’m ready for anything.” Jackson kissed me before we reached the doors that opened into the ball room. “I love you, my beautiful Emily.”

“I love you, my handsome Prince Jackson.”

I kissed Jackson once more then the doors opened, I took a deep breath and Jackson led me down the aisle. My heart was beating fast and out of rhythm, my breathing was harsh and I could hardly breathe. “Just breathe, Emily.”

After Jackson said that I instantly became calm and overcame my fear of being the centre of attention. I know some of them were thinking about me running away before the biggest day of my life, I'm being presented at court and it's my eighteenth birthday.

Jackson and I reached the end of the aisle then he let me go and I walked up to the throne.

I declared my being worthy of such an important role in the royal family and confirmed my loyalty to the throne. I had my eyes on Jackson nearly the whole time unless I was spoken to and we exchanged smiles throughout the ceremony.

Because of Jackson, I feel strong enough to be standing here that when the time’s ready I will marry him.

“I now present, Princess Emily of Ghandolan.”

The crowd cheered then Jackson escorted me back out of the hall then once we were out of the hall he hugged me. “I’m so proud of you, Emily.”

Dad walked up to Jackson and I. “Well done, Emily but now about you and Jackson.”

Jackson held me tight against him, dad said “I know you both want to marry but right now isn’t the best time but Jackson, I give you my permission to marry my daughter.”

“Thank you, sir...I look forward to it.”

“Thank you, daddy.” I said before I gave dad a hug.

The day went on and it was time for my birthday ball. I saw Fiona before the ball outside my room. “Fiona...thank you for my dress, I love it.”

“You’re welcome, Emily but the one I’ve made was one I know you’ll love even more. It’s on your bed in your room.”

I gave Fiona a hug and said “Thank you, I owe you so much for everything you have done for Jackson and I.”

“No you don’t, Emily...we’re family. You don’t owe me anything. You being with my son is the best thing to have happened to me, his father would’ve loved to have met you as a beautiful young woman.”

“Jackson reckons that his dad pushed us together and I believe him because the day I met Jackson, I knew then that he was the one for me.”

"Jackson thought so, too." Fiona smiled then realized something. "His dad would've been proud."

“I know he would’ve, I’d better get changed...thank you again, Fiona.”

After that I got changed into the dress. It was a long green silk dress with lace across the bust, it was beautiful.

I walked out of the room and outside was Jackson in a dark blue tux, white dress shirt and a green tie. “Wow...” He said amazed.

“Why is it that every time you see me, it’s wow?” I asked smiling from ear to ear.

Jackson smiled at me. “Because you’re beautiful, Emily...I could never get tired of looking at you and I will love you forever.”

“I know...” I laughed then kissed Jackson. “You ready to party?”

“A party with you, I’m always going to be ready.”

We went downstairs to the Grand room but when the doors opened it felt like it was only Jackson and I in the room. The room was filled with the Princes' and Princess' from school, Mr Heller and his wife, Trish, people from Ghandolan and Fiona. The room was full of colour, joy and fulfilment...this is going to be my responsibility one day and Jackson was going to be there through it all by my side.

“Do you care to dance, my Princess?” Jackson asked.

I nodded then he led me to the dance floor then we danced. The party didn’t end until the early hours of the morning then Jackson and I went to the meadow and watched the sunrise. It was like we had been there forever before we decided to go back to the Palace, Jackson went to his bedroom and I went to mine but not before we kissed good night.
