The Dursleys were perfectly happy living in a perfectly normal neighborhood, in a perfectly normal house with a perfectly normal family. And that seemed to be the case for them until they took in their niece and nephew, who just so happened to be the exact opposite of normal. Harry and McKenzie were the twin children of Lilly and James Potter who tragically died just after the twins were born. Petunia, being the only living relative of the two, took the twins into her care along with her husband Vernon and their son Dudley.
Of course, the perfectly normal couple wasn't happy about taking in the twins, as they knew there was something different about them, something special. The Dursleys knew that, just as their mother and father were, the tiny babies would grow up to be a witch and wizard. They never had anything to do with that world prior to the twins arrival and they would do anything to keep it that way, including keeping the children from knowing anything about their parents and the world they came from. As far as the Dursleys were concerned, Harry and McKenzie would never know who their parents even were as long as it kept them away from that crazy, unnatural world.
Which meant that they would never know just how their parents died just days after their birth. Unfortunately, this was a dark time for the wizarding world. A dark wizard by the name of, well, people don't usually speak his name. Anyway, this dark wizard was drunk with power and would stop at nothing to control the world. It was foretold that a boy born at the end of July would be able to stop him and Harry and his sister just so happen to be born on the last possible day of July. The dark wizard tracked down the family and planned to murder Harry to stop the prophecy from fulfilling itself. Lilly and James died protecting their children and Harry became untouchable by the dark wizard because of their great sacrifice.
Harry and McKenzie would never know this about their parents, or anything about them at all for that matter. The day the Dursleys took them in they were unloved and unwanted. Their uncle, aunt and cousin only saw them as pests invading their house. They would never know the love of a parent, at that time they only had each other to lean on. As they started to grow a bit older they became very close, almost inseparable. When they were old enough to start school they were lucky enough to be in the same class.
One hot spring day, as the children were playing outside on the playground, Harry and McKenzie decided to play hide-in-seek, McKenzie hiding first. Recess went on and twenty minutes later it was time to go inside and continue class. The primary school teacher collected all of the kids and began to head back inside until Harry spoke up. "Wait , wait. Wheres my sister?" Harry questioned, still unable to find her from their game of hide-in-seek. "I don't seem to see her with us. I thought she was with you the whole time, Harry." She had everyone spread out and look for her. Twenty more minutes went by and they were still unable to find her. The teacher ran to get the school officer to notify him that she was missing. The whole city looked for her for weeks, but they had no luck in finding the missing girl. Harry didn't see his sister after that day and now he was truly alone with no family left.
