**A week and a half later**
"Tokyo! Tokyo! Tooooooookkkkkkkyo!" Sydney sings in the hotel room. I laugh as I open up the curtains to show the lit up town in the night. "So," Phoebe says, flopping onto her bed. She and Sydney share a room. I share a room across the hall with Ashton,Calum, and Sophie. Cause guess what. Calum asked Sophie out. Amazing,I know. "How many shows do we have here?" Phoebe finishes her sentence. I shrug. "Ask Michael." I answer. Sophie comes running into the room. "Guys! Guess what the smell of the shampoo and conditioner they have here!!" She jumps up and down with two bottles in her hand. "Ummmmm,I don't know, what do they smell like?" Sydney asks. "I don't know! But it's really good!" Sophie opens up the bottles and the rest of us pass them around, smelling them. It smells like.....something like paradise would smell like. "Cool. I'll be seeing you guys." I say and Sophie and I walk to our room. "Hiiii." Calum greets as he turns on the tv. I wave. "Where's Ash?" I ask, looking for him. "He's in Michael and Luke's room." Calum shrugs. Sophie sets the shampoo and conditioner bottles down and sits beside her boyfriend. I nod. "Okay," I go to the door next to mine and knock. "Hey." I say to Michael, and see Luke and Ashton in the background. "Hi." Michael lets me in. "So,whatcha doing?" I wonder aloud as Ashton puts his arm around my shoulder. "Looking at the menu for room service." Ashton answers. I nod, trying not to laugh. "And Michael was confessing his feelings about Phoebe. He likes her." Luke tells me. "Shut up,Luke." Michael mumbles. "So all that's left is Loner Luke over here." I tease. "And Sydney." Luke replies. "No,not really. She and Ethan,or Jerry,as she calls him,are still together." I tell him. Ashton nods in agreement. "And honestly, you deserve it. You've done nothing but ignore her in the past,so now,it's the karma biting back." Ash adds and Michael says, "Yeah." Luke rolls his eyes and Ash takes me back to our room.
"Why do they always fight?" Phoebe whispers in my ear, trying not to get the attention of Luke and Sydney, who are back at it again with the fighting. This time about the chords of one of our songs. I shrug in response and search for my lucky drumsticks in my bag, kneeling on the ground. "I told you it's my band's song! So I should know!" Sydney yells. "They're getting worse." Sophie mutters, grabbing the guitar pick out of my hand, which I picked up when she had dropped it. I nod. "Sydney! Time for the show!" I call out, which makes both heads turn to me. Sydney looks down and nods. "How long have you been there?" She asks,a quiet whisper,as if we were tiny children, watching our parents argue. "All of it." Sophie tells them. "Right." Sydney whispers, looking up at us,and fakes a smile that I can see through. And so can Phoebe and Sophie. Sydney hurries out of the dressing room, followed by Phoebe, and Sophie leans in to talk to Luke. I turn to them. "By the way,Sydney was right." Sophie says with a smile and marches out of the room, like she has accomplished something. I give him a sympathetic smile and turn to leave. He grabs my wrist. "Emily. Why is it always like that between me and her," Luke asks. "Sydney,I mean." I shrug. "I wish I could answer that,Luke, but I can't." I answer. He nods. I walk out and get ready for the show.
