**3 days later**
I paint my nails a deep purple with hot pink dots. Someone knocks on the door and Sydney opens it. "Hey." Luke's voice fills the air. I sigh. My choice was no one. Luke gave up,even though he said he wasn't going to. Ashton took me out, although I didn't choose him,and we ended up back together. I thought I'd be the last face Luke Hemmings would ever want to see. "What's up?" Sydney asks. "So,I wanted to know if you wanted to go out to dinner,Friday night maybe?" I look up from my nails. He's trying to make me jealous. Sydney laughs. "Oh,Luke,I've waited forever for you to ask." "So that's a yes?" "No." "What?"Luke asks. I tilt my head. "In case you didn't know, forever is a long time. A long enough time for me to get over you. Have a nice night." Sydney closes the door and smiles at me. "I thought you liked him." "Not anymore." "Well then."
**The next day**
Sydney is watching "Full House" as I edit and upload a video. I finish and go into the tv area. "Wanna go shopping?" Sydney asks. "Can we get coffee after?" "Sure." We go to the mall for a bit and then to the downtown. After shopping,we head to the coffee shop to find it completely empty, besides the employees working today. "Why is it empty?" I ask Kara, the manager. She shrugs. "Not sure." We pay for our coffee and wish the best for the rest of the day. And then head home. Lilly, the apartment secretary for the day shift, smiles as we carry in our bags. I tell Sydney that I am going to the police station and begin to walk a block down. I enter the warm building and Jay and another police dog,Yogo, come running up to me. I pet them both and another dog,the firehouse dog,Gary, comes up too. "Hi Gary." I say as Officer Donley and Officer Treyor walk up.
