21. See ya at thanksgiving!
"I don't fucking care about you and your feelings, Fiona. I'm leaving this shithole. " He finishes throwing clothes in a backpack. "E.T, please, where are you going to stay? " He zips the bag and turns around: "I rented a room in the city with the cash I've been saving. I have a license and I can buy a used car somewhere. I asked to get more hours at the diner. " Fiona crosses her arms: "You've been saving? " He puts a blanket and a pillow in another bag: "Yeah. From the lab and half the cash I get at the diner. I'll be back, Fi. It's not like you'll never see me. I'm going to be here after school and shit. "
She shakes her head, like she always does when she's about to do something she thinks is wrong. Ethan's worried about what she'll do. "No. You stay here or you leave. Come back when we invite you. " Ethan shakes his head and laughs, disbelief painted all over his face. The seconds pass by in complete silence until he nod, slowly accepting her ultimatum: "Okay. See you at thanksgiving then, Fi. " He walks out the door with her glare burning into his backpack. Debbie's sitting on the couch when he comes down in the living room, doing her homework with Lip as her tutor.
He kisses her red hair, and raises his hand at Lip: "Goodbye guys. " They both look up at him: "Where you going? " Ethan sighs: "Moving out. " Debbie jumps up: "Not you too! Is it because Ian moved out? You're going with him? " His fists turn white around the bags straps. "Why is it always about Ian with you people? I'm my own person, ya know! " Lips glare is disapproving: "Are you staying with Peter? " He shakes his head: "His landlord said no. So I got my own place. " He walks towards the door, and the last thing he says before the door closes, with a cocky smile and sad eyes, leaves his siblings confused for at least a couple of seconds. "See ya at thanksgiving! "
