2. My Entry

It was late afternoon, and the sparrows

Flew round and round above the trees' frame

Three friends sit without a smile to borrow

For the bullies are passing, singing as they came

“Beware that girl sat there, yes that one!

The braceface that does her homework with care

Beware the big and chunky one and shun

The other; we can pull her long tangled hair!”

The bullies unleashed all the sharp words they could

As their victims had been hiding all day

The bullies loom over them as they stood

Their smirks samba, their hungry stares don’t stray

Thinking fast, she forces herself to her feet

Her eyes overflow with fury and flame

“For years you have tortured me. I’m done. You’re beat!”

All her opponents do is hang their heads in shame

Her tongue cuts with words that are so carefully chose

Spitting and stabbing, she lets all her thoughts run

Riled and raging, roaring as she goes

Their silence, their blanks looks, she’s won!

Triumphant, she turns and her laughs do soar

Skipping swiftly back and embracing her allies

“No-one has ever stood up to them before!”

They joyously jive, shouting  cheers to the skies

Tomorrow, its late afternoon, and the sparrows

Flew round and round above the trees' frame

Three friends sit with smiles to let others borrow

For the bullies are passing, silent as they came
