"Move your butt, Harry!" Ellie complained, having been forced to stop by the fact that Harry still hadn't moved out of the 'doorway.' The pressure on the front of the trolley vanished and Ellie finished moving out of the wall, moving over to allow Snape and her parents onto the platform before staring at the scene around her. It was beautiful. The black and scarlet train. The dozens of wizard families milling around the platform. The endless owls fluttering above their heads.
"Wow." Emma, Killian and Snape had by this time joined the two of them on the platform. Ellie began pushing her trolley towards the train, noticing for the first time the miniature winged boar on the front, Harry tagging along behind her.
"Ellie. Pause. Come her please." Emma said and Ellie returned to her mother's side.
"But Mom! I want to go see the train!" Ellie complained.
"I know. You have your ticket?" Ellie showed her the train ticket, then tucked it back into her pocket. "You have all your books, robes, and school supplies?"
"You have everything you need for Swan?" Emma asked, referencing the white kitten Ellie had convinced Killian to get her while they were in Diagon Ally.
"You have the mirrors?"
"Yes." She held up the black compact mirror Regina had given her. "the big one is in my trunk." Ellie said. "Can I go now?"
"Alright. Be safe. Call every night. I expect you back for Christmas, Easter and the summer." Emma demanded.
"I know Mom. I'll be fine. It's only three months till Christmas. I'll see you then." Ellie hugged her mom.
"I love you."
"I love you too, Mom." Ellie said and let go of Emma to wrap Killian in a hug of his own. "I love you Daddy!" She said.
"I love you too Princess." Killian hugged his daughter and he and Emma waved Ellie off as she hurried to catch up to Harry who was already handing Hedwig to the man loading the luggage into the train.
"Hey Ellie!" He called her over and helped her load her stuff onto the train.
"Aren't you going to put Swan in the back with the other animals?" Harry asked and Ellie shook her head.
"No, I want to play with her on the ride up." Ellie explained and followed Harry into an empty compartment.
"What do you think Hogwarts will be like?" Harry plopped down into the seat across from her.
"I think it'll be huge. With lots of towers and hidden places. Plenty of secret passageways and rooms, just waiting for the next generation of students to discover them." Ellie fantasized and Harry nodded. The door to the compartment snapped open and Ellie returned from her fantasies of the castle.
"Do you mind? Everywhere else is full." The red haired boy asked and Ellie shook her head.
"No, by all means." Harry motioned to the seat next to Ellie. The boy sat down and Ellie noticed the rat in his pocket.
"I'm Ron by the way. Ron Weasley." The boy introduced himself.
"Ellie. Ellie Jones." Ron and Ellie shook hands. "This is Harry. Harry Potter." Ellie gestured to Harry. Ron's face turned to one of wonder, amazement and shock.
"You're Harry Potter? Do you have the um..." Ron paused, suddenly self conscious.
"The scar?" Ellie asked and Ron nodded once.
"Oh, yeah." Harry lifted his bangs and showed Ron the lightning shaped scar on his forehead.
"Wicked." Ron gasped, clearly impressed.
"It's not that impressive." Ellie said, annoyed.
"Not impressive?! Do you know where he got it?!" Ron asked, scandalized.
"Yup! Voldemort came and cursed his forehead off." Ellie said matter-of-factly.
"Um," Harry said, facepalming.
Just then, another girl appeared in the doorway. "Has anyone seen a toad? A boy names Neville's lost one." She said.
"No, we haven't. I'll come with you, though, these boys are idiots." Ellie said.
"Hey!" Harry and Ron both said at the same time. "We're not idiots!"
"Uh-huh. Sure you're not." Ellie said. "Come on, let's go. What's your name?" Ellie added, closing the door behind them as they stepped into the hall.
"I'm Hermione Granger. What's your name?" Hermione asked.
"My name is Elizabeth Jones. If you call me Elizabeth, I will curse your face off. Call me Ellie."
"How are you going to curse my face off? You don't know any curses." Hermione asked.
" I'm from America, and I have more than one type of magic. See?" Ellie made a ball of light appear in her hands.
"That's so cool!" Hermione said. "How did you get that?"
"My mom has magic like this, and so does Aunt Regina." Ellie explained.
"Oh. Hey, guess what I saw when I was on my way to the Leaky Cauldron?" Hermione asked.
"A green unicorn doing the conga with a tap-dancing tiger?" Ellie asked excitedly. "I saw one of those the other day!"
"Um, no." Hermione said, giving Ellie a strange look. "I saw a weird lady in a pantsuit wandering around London, then a blonde lady appeared in a puff of smoke next to her, and then they both disappeared in puffs of smoke!"
Ellie scrunched up her face. "What color of smoke did the pantsuit lady disappear into?"
"Maroon, but with bits of black mixed in." Hermione said.
"That was Aunt Regina. The other lady was my mom." Ellie explained.
"Oh. Here, let's ask these people if they've seen Neville's toad. Oh, hello, Neville. Have you found Trevor?" Hermione asked.
"No." Neville said tearfully. "I've lost him, and Gran will be so mad at me!"
They opened the door to the compartment they were outside, and Ellie realized that it was the compartment she shared with Harry and Ron.
"We've already told him we haven't seen it!" Ron said. "Hello, Ellie."
"Shut up, Ronald." Ellie said wearily.
"How did she know my name is Ronald?" Ron asked Harry who shrugged.
"Because. I'm not stupid. What mother would name their kid 'Ron' without it being short for something?" Ellie asked.
"Hey!" Ron looked highly offended. Turning around, he looked even more offended when he saw Harry was laughing. "You're both mean!"
"Don't be such a baby Ronald." Ellie rolled her eyes. When Ron glared at her, she added, "I know your middle name, too."
Ron gave her a horrified look. "How do you know that?"
"Because of your Uncle Bilious. He's in several books that I've read, about how he saw a Grim and died twenty-four hours later. I just assumed that'd be your middle name. Looks like I was right!" Ellie said triumphantly. Harry was laughing again.
"Your middle name is Bilious?" Harry asked.
"Yes." Ron muttered, his face suddenly matching the shade of his hair. Ellie rolled her eyes and left the compartment with Hermione.
