Now get the hell out of here and have a nice life.’

The lads all rang taxis to come and pick them up and they disappeared into the night.’

It was whilst walking around the Grainger Market in Newcastle that Mickey Costello felt something sharp in his side. Instinctively his hand went to where to pain was coming from. His hand was covered in blood and suddenly the realisation hit him that he’d been stabbed. He’d been buying a nice piece of steak for his dinner and some vegetables and fruit from one of the many fruit stores.

He walked about fifty yards before his legs buckled under him and he lay on the ground with blood pouring from his liver that had be sliced open as well as his kidney.

“Get an ambulance quick shouted someone in the crowd.

Mickey’s life was ebbing away as the knifeman slipped silently away with a bag containing several thousand pounds.

By the time the ambulance reached him he was barely alive. They placed an oxygen mask over his mouth and tried to stem the flow of blood that was pumping out of his side. All of his fruit and vegetables were scattered on the ground.

By the time they reached the RVI Mickey was dead.’

Panic set in when Brian Napier found out about Mickey two days later.

He locked himself away in the house and just ordered takeaway food.

It was when he ordered a pizza on a Saturday night a week later that he answered the door to a man who was wearing black leather motor cycle gear and helmet and carrying a Pizza Hut box.

“About time said Brian as he took the box from the man then went to get the money from his pocket to pay him. Two put, put, noises erupted from a gun with a silencer and Brian fell back and the last thing he saw was the man in black picking up his pizza before he put another bullet into his head.

He walked into the house and quickly searched the house until he found the money

The gunman closed the door then walked calmly down the stairs. He got onto the Kawasaki motor bike and rode away.

Rob rang Barry to tell him what had happened.’

“Get out of the house now Rob ordered Barry; meet me at the airport.’

“Rob picked up the phone and ordered a taxi.

“Where are you going asked the receptionist?

“Newcastle Airport can you make it quick please.’

“We have one in your area now he will be with you in a few minutes.

Rob packed a suitcase with just the bare essentials and filled the rest with the money. He ran out to the taxi that pulled up.

“Newcastle airport please he said then the boot opened and he picked up his case and was about to put it in when the taxi driver got silently out and shot him in the head. His body slumped forward and the driver scooped up his legs and bundled him in the boot He fixed a plastic bag over his head to stop blood dripping and he tied it around his neck.

Then he picked up the case opened it to make sure the money was there. The driver then drove to the quayside and dumped the body over the side. He then drove to a car wash left the boot open so the car could be thoroughly washed. Mel Gunn drove it back to a shopping mall and left it. “Only one more to take care of he said to himself as he got into his own car and drove away.
