“No senor, only that they were looking to buy property.’

Thank you; you have been a great help.’

Eddie came over and told the others what the captain of the ferry had told them.

So now I can finally catch up with Barry Davis said Melvyn Gunn.

The ferry took over an hour to reach Gran Canaria. The ferry pulled in at Porta Morgan and they drove the car off then parked up and walked around the Marina; There was large grey mullet swimming in huge shoals around the yachts that were worth several million pounds.’ The marina had many fish restaurants and they checked them all before moving on. They drove to Puerto Rico and the Tobago apartments the Island had hotels on both sides and it might prove a lengthy process to find them. All day they searched they split up and had a rendezvous point where they could all meet up again. Melvyn searched the Anfi beach which was a man made beach with cool sand. The other parts were natural volcanic rock and were impossible to walk on without protection for your feet. They showed the tourist the photos of the men they were looking for having had them duplicated and enlarged at a camera shop.

By seven o’clock they were hungry so they stopped of at a local bar restaurant called Henry’s, again they showed the photo in the hope that the restaurant manager could shed some light on the men who they were looking for. They ate a meal and drank two beers then set off again. They searched many bars on the island including Bambus, Barbacoa’s, and Europa night club, Mel checked out Turbo, Venue, Tifany’s, Wigwams, Kiss, Tango’s, and many other bars and restaurants. There was no sign of them anywhere.

Eddie got them all together and told them that they have gone to ground. They know we are looking for them all we have to do is sit tight and they will come out of their rat hole and when they do we will be waiting. They checked into a place in Playa de Amadores. They all took a shower whilst Eddie reported back to Colin to tell him the news.

“We will sit it out for a couple of days and see what happens. They will surface somewhere and when they do we will strike.’

“I want them brought back alive said Colin.’

Colin put down the phone then reported what Eddie had just told him to Darren.’

“Don’t worry my friend if they are there they will be found and brought back here.’

Barry Davis had found a place off the beaten track it was owned by a local farmer

called Ramos Ortiz he and his wife ran the small farm house and had a two room guest house The El Chapparral was high up in the hills of Spain and was not easily accessed from below. That is why Barry had chosen it. He posted an armed watch outside and two men would be relieved every two hours so they could rest.

They stood outside holding the sawn off shot guns for protection the shells would kill any one at twenty metres; they would blow and arm or a leg clean off at ten.

Even though there was a watch Barry kept alert and had the pistol at hand in case he heard shots. It was now five am in the morning and Barry had nodded off.

He was woken by Mickey who told him it was their turn to watch.

The dawn broke early here and Ramos was up already.

“You no sleep senor?

“No Ramos too hot.’

“Si senor, my wife cooks breakfast for you; please go to the house when you are ready.’
