What are we going to do Barry asked Mickey Costello?

“Are we going to give Darren all of it?’

“No we are fuckin’ not; I took the risks along with all of you. I say we tell him there was two million and keep the other three to be divided equally. That’s seven hundred and fifty grand apiece. Along with the two hundred grand each he was paying us leaves us just shy of a million each.’

“What about Ernie?’

“Fuck that numpty laughed Barry, we did the hard work. He’s getting two hundred grand for what; driving in front of a fuckin’ van?’

“Right lets get our money bagged up and out of here before Darren gets here.’ Mickey, Rob, and Brian all divided the money into a four way split. Brian then drove away with it to another safe place in Gateshead. He had to get there and back before Darren arrived and was just in time as Darren pulled up with Ernie Kay in the Jag.

“Well boys its time to celebrate I take it.’

A case of beer was brought in and the men sat around drinking as Darren turned on the radio.

The reporter gave an account of the robbery that taken place at one o’clock that day. They had not disclosed the true figure of how much was in the van but had just said a substantial amount of cash.’

“Well a million quid isn’t bad is it for five hours work?’

“Actually its two million said Mickey?’

“Christ that’s even better. I think we can double your wages then boys.’

“A cheer went up.’

“Sorry about the jag said Ernie, it took a knock on the left side.’

“Don’t worry about it Ernie you can pay to get it fixed out of your share.’

“What, come on boss; it was an accident.’

“Look at him said Darren laughing as he gave him a grand and told him to get it done and sharpish.’

Eddie knew someone who would put him onto someone to get it done cheaply. He didn’t want to be spending all of his hard earned loot on a car that was near four years old as much as he enjoyed driving it.

The money was divvied up then the lads all went about there business.

“Don’t go mad spending large sums of money because the police will be on the look out.’ Book yourselves a nice cheap holiday to Tenerife for a month then come back when it has cooled down and then you can enjoy your money.’

Eddie drove Darren back to his luxury apartment on the quayside then drove the car back to his house where he made a few calls.
