    •Macks POV•

  •Monday Morning•

  !BeepBeepBeepBeepBeepBeep!

I throw my phone off of the nightstand covering my ears and rolling around in my bed making all of my stuffed animals fall. "Mackenzie babygirl, wake up..you don't want to be late for school today", Grandma calls out to me. I stretch my feet to the edge of my bed and let out the biggest yawn.

"Morning Grams", I say sleepily raising out of bed.   "Good morning Mackenzie, I made you a breakfast platter its on the table", Grandma said smiling.   "Thanks Chef", I responded jokingly.

I look at the time and it's 6:34 in the morning. School starts at 8:00 and its about a 10 minute walk 4 minute drive. "CAM!", I yell from the kitchen as I drench my pancakes in syrup.  "Oh, your brother left about 30 minutes ago for work", Grandma said giving me a worried look.

"Great, now I have to walk", I said stabbing my fork into my 3 stacked pancakes.   "I dont know how you'll do on this but I had this for a while, it was your cousin Crishelle's but she stopped using it", Grandma said going into the "mud room".

She pulled out a bright turquoise blue skateboard with green wheels.    It wasn't as big as all the other skateboards and the wheels were quite smooth and bigger.   "Aww..but I don't know how to ride a skateboard", I said eating.

"They call it a penny board, your supposed to position your feet and kick off. It's like the scooter your mom bought you except with 4 wheels and no handle", she fought back.

"Okay, I need to get going though I'm going to be late", I said throwing my plate in the sink.

"Call your brother if you don't want to skate back home", she said walking to her room, I knew she was going back to bed.

I looked down and realized I still had on my pajamas so I ran into my room and put something together.   I wore a black sweatshirt that said "Y O U T H" in the upper right chest, dark blue skinny jeans, and black uggs. I really wasn't in the mood to do my hair so I pulled it back in a ponytail and put on my matching " Y O U T H" black hat.    Forget makeup, strawberry mint chapstick and face moisturizer is what had to slay the day.

"See Ya Grandma!", I yelled as I headed out the door with my "penny board".   "Okay, it's my first day of school, I don't need to be there with bruises, please cooperate", I mumbled to myself.

I stopped at the corner of the side walk and put the board down on the concrete ground. I positioned my foot behind the four nails that were in the mid front of the board.

I used my right foot to kick off and I slowly glided across the concrete smiling.   There was a group of people ahead of me, seemed around 15 or 16, 3 boys all light skin with curly hair and 2 girls with long hair. They were walking in a big group and one of the girls were holding the boys hands. I felt myself slowing down so I swept my feet across the concrete twice which made me go so fast I went flying holding onto one of the boys. "Just great",  I mumbled in the air.

I could already hear people talking and laughing and the two girls gasping.    "Omg, are you okay?", he asked holding onto me so I wouldn't move anymore. "I'm fine..let go of me", I said shaking away from his grasp.   "Oh, my bad..just tryna help", he threw his hands up in surrender.

"FIRST YOU TRY AND STILL MY SPOT AND NOW YOU TRY AND STILL MY-"   "Melissa chill, she doesn't know how to ride", The boy said interrupting her.    "Be ready Mackenzie Carter, THIS IS WAR! I mean it!", Melissa said in that devilish voice of hers. I scoffed and headed down the street towards the school.

My morning already says "Mackenzie Carter will have the worst highschool year of her life".
