3. The Night Out

"Okay, Gabby, but I am coming with you. There are many people that want to befriend you, or bed you, or even kill you. And if anyone but me beds you I will have there head on a stick," Ambrose said as he watched me change into a long black dress made of silk. Most of my clothing was silk or leather. I just pulled a random dress out and put it on.

"Fine. I can't argue with that. But will you do my hair, Ambrose?" I asked as I studied myself in the mirror. Ambrose nodded and came behind me to do that. He was better at doing my hair than anyone else. He pulled slightly one way or the other. When he removed his hands from my head I looked at my hair. It was a mass of curly lines. It was also in a ponytail. Ambrose leaned down to press a kiss to the side of my neck, and pull me closer to him. He knew that this was not the time so he backed off after the quick kiss.

"Thank you. What are you going to wear?" I asked Ambrose as he started to look through his clothes. He shrugged.

When he was all dressed my new family and I had all started to pile in the car. We all looked like Gods dressed up to go party. Which would be too weird if we walked in the building together. I can’t have that happen.

"Okay you guys. I have to tell you this friend of mine might not be a vampire already. And if that is the case I will not turn her so one of you will have to. But if she is a vampire, she might know who I am and she might bow. If she does will you fill her in on that thing?" I asked. I knew that they would say of course they would turn her, but they might want a reason why I wouldn't turn her myself.

“Why don’t you turn her yourself?” William asked. I felt the arm around my shoulders stiffen. I looked over to Ambrose, he looked like someone just asked to take my life. I wasn’t going to ask about it yet.

"I will not turn anyone. I am too powerful for them. And I will not make a newborn like me so powerful," I explained. They nodded their heads. Ambrose calmed down after I said. I looked over at him and he shrugged. And we sat  in quite a little longer.

"Okay. So I can't be seen with you at the club. To everyone we would just look like gods getting ready to kill a bunch of people." I told them they didn't seem to like the idea too much, but they nodded their heads because they knew that would be true. We pulled into the parking lot. And all got out. I was the third to entry on my own. They didn’t want me to go in first, because I might not be safe if I go in first. First it was Eric, then it was William, and then me. Ambrose entered after that, followed by Jasper, and Taurus stated outside in the car. I was doing a lot of talking and mind reading than normal. So by the time I met the person I would consider a friend I had made a lovely headache for myself and hurt my jaw.

"So how are you?" I asked a girl that sat next to me. She looked over at me as I asked and her eyes widened.

"You look amazing." She said. I didn't like the way her eyes rolled over me. But friends have somethings that they don't want the other to know. And I could understand the way that I must look in her eyes. I must look like someone that doesn’t belong in a club seen.

"Thank you. So do you." I said back. She did look pretty in her white dress. It was like white was her color as black was mine.

"So what's your name?" She asked me.

"Gabby, and yours?" I didn’t need to ask. I was in her head. But it seemed nice to ask.

"Sindy. You know you look a lot like those guys over there eyeing you." She told me and nodded the way that she was looking.

"Oh. I didn't notice." I turned my head to glance at them. I gave them a sign to stop looking the way they were looking at me.

    "Yeah. I think they like."

"I do too. Maybe I will go over later and say hi to them. So how is your day going?"

"Good. I basically went to work and got a lot done. How was yours?"

"Good, I guess. I slept in a little too late and had to call in sick from my job. But my job is easy enough it can run on its own."

    "What’s your job?"

"Oh I run a publishing company. The employees are so well trained they run themselves. What do you?"

" I edit books. I love it. It is just fun."

    "Oh what company?"

    "Um ... loves books publication."

"Wow. You work for me? I have never met my employees. I know that sound funny, but I am always so busy I just pass that job onto my helper. She is very good at it."

"Wait. You own that company?"She asked.  I nodded. What a coincidence! I am meeting one of my employees. I haven't done that in a long time. But then again. I had to start a business to get money. And haven’t been around to actually run it.

"Well it was nice meeting you. I hope to see you soon." I said and walked away. I knew who she was and I liked her. I want her to be my friend. Her mind is nice and I like her. I knew that William would like her as well.

I walked back over to Ambrose and sat down next to him. His arm slid around my shoulders to rest there. No one moved or talked.

"I like her." I said. It was all that I had to say. William got up to go talk to her and get her to come home with us. And she did. She thought that she would get a one night stand. She was wrong, but it was still a way to get her to come. Everyone got up to leave, but Ambrose and me.

"Ambrose don't turn her. I want someone else to. You are like me and she would be too powerful for a newborn if you or I turned her." I said and he helped me up out of the booth and we walked back to the car. Everyone was waiting for us. I knew that I was going to have to explain some things to her.

When we got back in the car she looked from me to my friends. She smiled and looked back over to the person that got her in here. I smiled and turned back to Ambrose. I would tell her at my home. It would be much better for her to be told by someone who knows her and she knows is nice before she truly trusts us. She was going to stay and become more like a friend to me and not be turned until I can trust her enough.

We stopped and she got out with William. He didn't have a problem with her. They went into his bedroom and William came back out to talk to me.

"I don't care what you do. Just keep your fangs to yourself. I don’t want her to know what we are just yet." I said, after I held up my hand in a move that said let me talk first. He nodded and went back into his room. Ambrose and I drank some blood and moved it to the rooms. We can not have her see it.

"Ambrose, we have to get some food for her. I can make her stay here, but she has to eat to stay strong." I whispered to Ambrose. I didn't know what they were doing in that room and I didn't want to see it. So everyone went to there rooms and fell asleep because the sun was coming up again.
