It's been 3 months since harry was shot. It's been 2 and a half months since harry was declared by doctors as in a coma. I've been to him everyday.
Today is my 23rd birthday and harry is still in a coma.
I walk up to the front desk and ask to be let through to harry's room but they tell me he has woken up, without thinking i Bolt as fast as i can towards harry's room, tears spilling from my eyes and a smile pursing on my lips.
I quietly push his door open to reveal a bed that has been made and no one inside except a nurse. She asks me what i would like and i ask to know where harry is. She gives a slight giggle and nods towards a stream of rose petals leading out the door and down the corridor.
I skip along the path of petals picking up the few flowers of roses, not the petals. The petals soon lead me outside of the hotel into a beautiful garden, a garden i remember all too well, I shiver in my boots dreading this place but my love for harry was stronger than my fear so i pushed through and ran to the end of the trail. it stopped under a blossoming cherry blossom tree and i picked the flowers as i waited for harry.
A cold hand clasped around my mouth and dragged me behind the tree.
"stupid girl, did you really think i was Harry. I thought that you'd remember this place the last time we met."
My eyes fell wide as i realized who the captor was and a flashback immediately entered my mind before i could push it away.
10 year old me was running through the lush grass with my friends when we decided to play "what are the odds" i was chosen to go up to this very tree and climb it, unfortunately when i got to the top i was too afraid to get down.
i sighed and refused to let the tears that were stinging my eyes to fall, if i hadn't of been afraid i wouldn't have -a tear slipped down down, I heard laughter behind me and blocked it out.
My friends went to get help which left me alone, he came, to be more specific, Dexter came. he offered me help but pulled me into a car and drove away with me tied up.
I refused to relive the rest of the moment and when i opened my eyes i was no longer under the tree but in a passenger seat.
Dexter: Don't worry, i won't hurt you.
he gave me a devilish smile, it was just sad that he was so good looking you'd expect him to be nicer. but i won't stop at anything this time to get away from him and have him locked up and even killed.
I pulled at the handle of the car and surprisingly it opened, i bolted out of the car and ran through the dirt road surrounded by trees. I heard no footsteps behind me but still kept running, the sun was high in the sky in which i guessed it was around midday. After a long time i began walking and ended up at a house and out came Dexter, he had a smug look on his face and i knew i woudn't be getting out of here.
suddenly i thought of something so different it might work to get me out of here, i took a step back and grabbed my phone out and pretended to dial the police, my other hand held behind my back
M: The, police are on the phone" I lied, I had no signal," Let me go, they have our location"
D: hahaha, don't play your little games with me, I know there's no signal here.
I noticed sorrow in his eyes as they began to water.
D: I need help Maddison, I won't lie to you. my wife ... di.ed.
I didn't know whether to believe him, the last time I was with him he did have a beautiful woman by his side. I refuse to let my guard down and make a proposal.
M: Once you let me free and promise not to come for me or anyone I know ever! then I will help you start a new life and deal with her passing.
Dexter collapsed to the ground and cried. I felt so shocked that he could have feelings but stepped towards him to pull him up. He drove me back to the hospital and I gave him the location to a psychiatrist.
I stood in the near empty car park on the cold autumn day staring after a black car slowly driving away.
Had he changed.
I saw harry running towards me and we hugged for what felt like forever. once we released I looked him in the eyes, they looked red and puffy like he had been crying.
M: harry, is something wrong
He didn't answer but motioned for me to follow him.
He led me to the edge of the lake where the sun was now setting, creating beautiful reflections in the water. He knelt down on one knee and pulled out a ring.
