5. Chapter 5.

This is one of the hardest days to get up. Monday, and on top of that finals. Instead of driving myself Katrina picked me up, so right after school she could come to my house and study.

“Think, only 2 more days.” Katrina mumbled as I entered the car.

“I know, what finals do you have to take today?” I asked as she started driving.

She thought for a moment, “Civics, Algebra 2, Chemistry, and art.”

“Ouch, all that on a Monday. I have Civics, personal finance, Chemistry, and English.” I said looking out the window. After that she turned on the radio, and stopped to get some coffee for us at the local gas station. Soon after we finished our drinks in the car, we arrived at school.

“Oh I didn’t tell you yet, I gave the letter to Aaron.” I told her. We talked about the details while we walked into the school, and to our lockers.

“Great. I’m proud of you!” She exclaimed. After we got to our lockers we hurried to class so we could prepare for the tests. The day could not have dragged on any slower. Katrina met me by my locker once school was done for the day.

“I want nothing more right now then to just watch a movie and eat popcorn.” She complained.

“Want to at my house, we can take a break in between subjects.” I suggested, slamming my locker door shut. We started walking out to her car.

“Hell yeah.” She agreed. After we arrived at my house we started studying right away with Algebra and english. We told each other what to look for on the test and what to forget. After about an hour of studying, my phone started to ring, caller ID showed it was my mom. I walked out of the kitchen and into the living room so I wouldn’t interrupt Katrina studying.

“Hey mom.” I said answering the phone.

“Hey hunny, how was finals today?”

“Boring. How are you doing with the book?” I asked

“Great, I have had so many interviews that I have lost count of how many I have had. But they want me to stay a couple extra days.” She added.

“So what day will you be home on then?” I asked.

“They are saying Sunday or Monday. Is that okay?” She explained.

“That is just fine. I have to go Katrina is here with me studying for finals.” I said.

“Okay, I love you.” She ended.

“Love you too.” I said back then hung up the phone. I walked back into the kitchen, and sat down at the table.

“Who was that?” Katrina asked still looking down at her textbook.

Grabbing my textbook I stated, “My mom, she said she is going to stay there a couple extra days.”

“Okay so we have the house to ourselves?” She asked smiling.

“Don’t you mean you have the house to yourself?” I said while putting on textbook away and taking another one out.

“Oh no, that was no accident.” She smiled, then looked back down at her textbook.

After a couple hours of hard studying we were finished and so were our brains. We ordered pizza and sat on the couch while we waited for the pizza to arrive.

“So would you be interested in me throwing you a birthday party on Friday? Your mom won’t be here, and I could get everything set up in no time.” She explained quickly while sifting through DVD’s to watch.

“I guess that would be okay. As long as you don’t invite anybody that I don’t like. And no more than 20 people.” I complied.

After agreeing to what could be my death she squealed and started planning because she said she only has three days to plan the best party ever. After starting  Warm Bodies  the pizza arrived, so we paused the movie. Giving the pimpled covered 25 year old the money Katrina grabbed the pizza and locked the door.

Katrina sniffed the box, “Oh this smells like heaven.”

“I’m sure our taste buds would like it even more.” I said coaxing her over to the couch.

With a mouth full of pepperoni pizza she managed to spit out, “John kissed me in school today.”

I took a bite, “Really, I thought he didn’t like PDA.”

“Well I am a good girlfriend.” She swallowed and took another bite. “Have you moved on yet from Aaron.”

“Actually…” I trailed off.

“Oh my damn. Details!” She yelled.

“Someone kissed me while I was still dating Aaron. But in my defence it was after we wrote the letter.” I swallowed and took another bite.

She swallowed then put her pizza down, “Well who was it?”

“Matt” I stated.

“Are we talking about the same Matt? Your neighbor?”

I nodded and picked up the pizza box to throw it away. When I got back into the living room from the kitchen Katrina was still sitting there dumbfounded.

“So you are telling me that you kissed Matt, and how was it?” She asked intensly.

“I mean, he is good.” I whispered, sitting back down on the couch next to her.

“On a scale of, what was I thinking to oh my damn, how good”

I thought for a moment realizing we were sitting where it happened, “Oh my damn.” I stated.

We sat and talked about what happened, and about her own experience for hours until her mom texted her asking where she was. After she left I hopped into the shower and went to bed early for the last finals I would have to take this school year.
