Him [ A Werewolf Tale ] *Completed*

When I was 13 years old, my entire family committed suicide, by driving full speed off a thirty foot bridge. Morbid, I know. Unfortunately, they deemed themselves unfit to live and ended it the only way they knew how. They had gotten themselves stuck in something deep and dark with a couple of the demons around our neighborhood and their contract was coming due. So at the age of only 13, I was left to fend myself and survive in a world full of vampires, werewolves, and demons.
~
My name is Claire Summers and my family had once ran one of the most powerful werewolf packs in North America. That is, however, only because of a contract held by a certain grey eyed demon. Since my parents died, I have been shunned. Disowned by everyone and unwanted in every sense. For the first time in my life I was completely and utterly alone. Until I met him

44. Chapter 42 | Everything Is Not What It Seems

Chapter 42

"Abigor?" Gina gasps, squealing slightly as she falls to the ground.

"Who the hell is Abigor?" Alex spits, "Adam, come on man, you better not be playing any tricks."

"I'm not your brother." Adam mocks, "And as I repeat, I haven't been your brother in quite a long time."

"H-how is that possible?" I stutter, inching slowly towards Gina and Alex.

Abigor's eyes find mine and he cocks his head to the side, "Ahh, my sweet, sweet Claire. Let me tell you the story."

"She's not your anything!" Alex screeches, pulling on his chains once again.

He growls lowly, but immediately stills. It is almost as if he had forgotten that I felt his pain, as he stops pulling against the chains and looks at me.

Adam does nothing, but snicker and continues, "Where shall I begin? Ahh, well his birth is as good as ever I suppose. Your parents were my enemy. My father, who had the throne before me, pinpointed your parents as an ultimate threat. I’m sure you heard about the battle of the Kings, but I’ll explain anyway. It was a little thing that my father created, survival of the fittest if you will. We challenged all the Kings in the neighboring packs to a duel and if we won, we became King of their kind. We conquered most everyone. Everyone except for your precious daddy. He thought he was better than us.”

“What does that have anything to do with my brother?” Alex spits, shaking in his chains.

“I’m getting to it!” Abigor booms, his commanding voice reverberating around the forest.

He sends another glare Alex’s way before continuing, “As I was saying before I was oh so rudely interrupted, he thought that he was better than us. He saw us as scum under his feet. My father needed to change that, to make it seem that we were a force to be reckoned with. So, like the powerful king he was, he sent me in to do the job. As soon as Adam was of age, I took control over his body and then I oh so kindly murdered your family. I was the last thing that your mommy and daddy ever saw."

Abigor pauses and lets out a chuckle, "What a sight to see! Your little boy stabbing a silver sword through your heart when you were supposed to be one of the most precious things to them."

"So help me Goddess you will pay!" Alex screeches, his eyes flashing to a deeper brown.

"How are you going to fight back if you're dead, Alexander?" Abigor mocks, stepping towards Alex.

"No!" I yelp, just as Abigor touches Alex's jaw.

He begins to writhe in pain, the chains around his arms cutting deeper into his body.

"Punish me! Not him!" I beg, lowering myself to my knees.

Abigor smirks and stops the spell, "That's quite admirable, your love for him I mean. But, you see, you were promised to me and you will be my Queen. This mutt is the first thing that stands in the way of that. You must understand, I have to get rid of him."

"I'm sorry, King." I snap, "But you will do no such thing. I don't want you and you will not lay a finger on my mate again."

A smirk, once again, grows on his face and he forces his hand onto Alex's chest. Alex wails loudly and I feel the stinging in my eyes for the second time that day. Bright red light shines from my palms and power surges through me. Abigor is thrown off his feet by my power.

"That's my girl," he grins, getting back to his feet.

I do not pay any attention to him, however, my eyes are focused on Alex. He is lying on his back, the chains still tying him to the tree. A steady stream of blood drips from the corner of his mouth and his breaths come out in short bursts.

"What did you do to him?" I mumble, inching closer to Alex.

"Nothing that should concern you, sweetheart." he smirks.

My anger flares as I stare up at Abigor. His eyes flash a brighter grey and a memory pops into my mind. It feels as if a pound of bricks has been thrown onto my head. I remembered those eyes.

"You!" I gasp, stumbling back, "My parents...you..."

He cocks his head to the side, "I was wondering when you'd connect the dots. It's pretty hard to forget these eyes."

"You made the deal." I cry, tears building in my eyes, "You..killed my parents."

"Oh no, I didn't do that," he shrugs, "The first thing that you need to realize, Claire, being the Queen and all, is that everything is not what it seems."

"Wha-" I start to say before Alex cuts me off, "She's not your Queen and she never will be. When I get out of these chains and I will get out, I am going burn your eyes out and rip you limb for limb."

Abigor makes a clicking sound in the back of his throat, "Now where's the fun in that? At least let me get a jab in first."

Alex shoots daggers at Abigor and hisses, "You made a deal with her parents?"

"I knew of your bond way before you two even realized it. I guess that's a perk of being the King of Hell, you know everyone's soulmate." he explains, with a smirk on his face, "I heard around town that her family were looking to make a deal. They wanted a prosperous pack and I was prepared to oblige with one small fee."

"Me." I whisper, "My parents made the deal knowing that I would sold off to you?"

He nods his head and continues, "They were quite lovely people. They simply wanted riches and they said that you stood in front of that. Your parents insisted that they couldn't afford your necessities. I knew the easiest way to get to him would be to get to you. So, I brought up the idea of a fair trade."

"Why? Adam?" Alex mumbles, leaning back in a normal position against the tree, but his anger has not yet faded, "Why did you want to get to me so badly? What have I done to you?"

"It is not a matter of what you have done, but more a matter of who you are." Abigor nods, "And for the last time do not call me ADAM! It's such an awful name I don't know why anyone would choose this. It wasn't the best choice on my behalf."

"Who I am?" Alex insists, pulling against the chains again.

"You're the King, if you can even call yourself that." Abigor mutters, "I need you and that mutt of a brother of yours dead, because then I'm King."

Alex moves to reply, but I interrupt him quickly in an effort to get him to calm down.

"What do you mean it wasn't your best choice?" I question, glancing over at Alex, feigning curiosity.

"Adam has been such a noble name. Humans used to think that if you were an Adam you were holy. My father allowed me to pick my name for this ride. I told his parents what I wanted to be named. I wanted my revenge." Abigor spits, his fists curling.

"Your revenge?" I mumble, looking fully at Alex now.

He has a pained look on his face as he gazes back over at me.

"Yes, my revenge," Abigor snickers, "I wished to destroy the nobility of the name. I wanted to ruin it, to taint it."

"But why? How is that helpful towards you in anyway?" I ask, confusion setting in.

"Because, Claire, Adam and Eve ruined my life, but I can't exactly be named Eve, now can I?" Abigor snaps, taking a step towards me.

This sets Alex into a frenzy. He pulls with all his strength against the silver chains and snapping his teeth at his prey.

"Down doggy," Abigor scolds, "Adam and Eve expelled Lucifer from heaven along with every single one of his followers. My family being one of them. Now, I can't go kill them, but tarnishing their name on earth and among the supernatural is my next best bet."

"What does this have anything to do with a deal?" Alex spits.

"It doesn't," Abigor grunts, "She asked. I answered."

"Get on with the deal." Alex snaps, his power radiating off his being.

"It was simple, your parents gave you to me as part of a deal they made," he answers.

"So you killed them?" I whimper, moving farther away from him.

"No, I didn't kill your precious mommy and daddy." he snaps, "Like I told you before everything is not what it seems."

"What does that mean?" I screech, running a hand through my hair.

"It mean, my Queen, that they faked their death." he spits, gesturing towards the brush.

I look over in time to see the two people I never thought I would see again walk into the clearing. My mother and father.
