3. Chapter 3
The light was blinding and my head was pounding.
Last nights events had come flooding back to me a little too quickly.
Groaning, I sat up and tried to adjust my eyes to th light.
Beside me was a note, with water and two painkillers.
I picked up the water and painkillers and quickly downed them, hoping the pain would subside quickly.
Then I picked up the note and read it carefully. Madi, I got called into work today. I thought you might need the painkillers since you partied so hard. Welcome.
Jose. She was always getting called into work.
Her boss was always looking for new recruits, but they ended up getting fired pretty quickly.
She always found quirks about them that she didn't like.
Heck, she even fired one girl because she didn't stack right!
I had seen the employees from Kmart come and go, very quickly.
Josie was just lucky she still had a job there!
You see, Tae, her "boss", was a very picky person who watched way too many episodes of Broke Girls.
Tae even fired me even though I wasn't even an employee!
The only reason she kept Josie was because of two things....
One; Josie was loyal and two; she was the best employee she had at the moment.
I got up and out of my comfy, warm bed.
Then I went into the bathroom and showered.
Afterwards, I changed into my yoga capris and a tank top, pulling my hair up into a bun.
I walked downstairs and into the kitchen, doing absolutely nothing.
I wasn't one for breakfast unless I was just really hungry or in the mood, so I didn't eat.
Sitting in a chair at the table I realized that today was Saturday.
The week had passed too quickly and I was wondering if Jose had any plans for tonight.
If not, I was thinking about going 'hunting' at the club we always go to downtown.
My type of 'hunting' was different than actual hunting.
I boy hunted; Searched the crowds for someone new and someone quick and easy.
Josie found humor in watching me 'hunt', I found humor in watching her flirt.
I quickly pulled my phone out of my back pocket and texted her, asking her if she had any plans for tonight.
Within seconds she replied and I smiled, must be goofing off today.
"NO, NOT REALLY....WHY?" She texted.
I smiled, texting her back. "WANNA GO TO THE CLUB???"
It wasn't but two seconds later that I got her response. "YES."
Smiling, I continued texting her. "GREAT, WHEN DO YOU GET OFF?"
"TWO HOURS." She replied.
"GREAT, I'LL SEE YOU THEN." I placed my phone back in my pocket and then went into the living room.
Two hours....Two hours to pass...
I turned the TV on and started watching one of my favorite shows....Friends.
Now, Friends was my favorite show. Of course I was in the wrong era of time when it first came out but at least I could watch all of the episodes still.
I turned the volume up and cuddled up on the couch with a blanket.
Josie always kept the house as cold as Antarctica and I always had to have a blanket with me nomatter what.
It didn't take long until she finally arrived home, but the look on her face said she needed a drink....Maybe even two.
"What's wrong Jose?" I asked watching her as she threw her keys onto the table.
"The new girl I'm having to train is what's wrong." She sighs as she falls onto the couch.
"Ouch!" I said, referring to the new girl comment.
"Yeah, big ouch." She said closing her eyes and rubbing them. "She's afraid of using the cash register because of breaking a nail, she won't lift anything heavy...At all....And she won't restock!"
I frown. "Then why did even apply for the job?"
"I don't know!" She says groaning. "She's acting all prissy little princess like and it's getting old too quickly. Tae won't keep her around long if she keeps this up."
Rolling my eyes, I get up. "Come on, we're leaving early. You need a drink my friend."
"What about you?" She asks.
"I'll have a Pepsi or Coke or something." I say waving the comment off.
She gives me the look and my eyes widen. "Well one of us has to drive!"
"Fine." She sighs and I go upstairs to get ready, followed by Josie.
