28. Chapter 28
The day had come and I was already nervous thinking about tonight.
Josie was trying to calm me down and I was trying to calm down too, but I couldn't help but feel like something was going to happen tonight.
As I finally got to see the outfit that Josie had picked out, I smiled.
My light brown skinny jeans and a beautiful off-white shirt.
She had matched it with some darker brown boots and then a bag.
As soon as I had changed, Josie pulled me into the bathroom, instantly getting to work on my make-up.
I just close my eyes and let her do her work.
"So, are you excited?" She asks.
"More like nervous and I don't know why." I say.
She giggles. "You'll be fine, trust me."
As she finishes my make-up and moves on to my hair, I wonder if she's right.
Will I be fine? ################# As I got into my car and drove to Harry's house, I smiled.
It was weird that I was the one picking him up, but I didn't mind, it was his birthday.
I was so happy when I finally got to his house and he walked straight out to the car.
As he got in, he kissed my cheek and I smiled at him.
"How has your day been?" I ask.
"Rather lonely." He says.
I pull away from his house.
"I'm sorry about that babe." I say as I hold his hand.
He smiles at me. "But, now that you're here I'm fine."
Smiling, I keep my eyes on the road. "So, where are we eating?"
A smirk forms on his face and he starts giving me directions.
Something told me that he was up to something, but I couldn't put my finger on it.
As I continue to follow Harry's directions, we end up at a resturant that was slightly formal.
I had never ben to this resturant but I was happy that Harry had picked it.
We got out of my car and went inside, it seemed like Harry made resevations because he stated his name to the hostess and she took us straight into the back.
As we were seated at our table, our hostess got our drink order and then I looked at him.
"You made reservations?" I ask.
"Yeah--Don't worry, I'll let you pay if that what you still want!" He chuckles. "But I wanted the place to be a surprise."
Smiling, I gently place my hand over his. "This is quite a surprise." I said as I admired the smile on his face and the sparkle in his green eyes.
The resturant was mainly themed in the color of red and gold.
It seemed just right for the feeling it gave off....Expensive and luxurious.
However, I wasn't afraid to pay for it.
It was Harry's birthday and I wanted to spoil him a bit, since he always seemed to spoil me.
Our waitress came back and then we ordered our food.
At least the menu wasn't made up of crazy things.
As I took a sip of my drink, I caught Harry watching me.
"So, how do you like this place so far?" He asks.
"I think it's nice." I say, glancing around the room. "It seems rather expensive and luxurious."
Chuckling, he kisses my hand. "Well, it's not as expensive as you think and it's supposed to give off a luxurious feeling."
As he kisses my hand again, he gazes into my eyes. "I don't mind paying, you know."
"I know, but it's your birthday and I'm treating you." I say smiling at him.
Soon, our food comes and we eat.
We decide on a desert and order it as well, but afterwards, we just sit and chat.
"So, how does it feel to be twenty-one?" I ask.
"Well, not very different from being twenty really." He says laughing a bit.
His laugh always sent my heart into overdrive, as did his smile.
I watched him with admiration and thought of how it first was when we had just started out.
We hadn't been together for too long--And maybe we were falling and moving too fast--but I knew already that I loved him and that he would be too painful to get over if I ever lost him.
As I took another sip of my drink, he got up and I watched him after setting my glass down.
"Madison, I know we haven't know each other for long," He says and instantly my heart beats faster and harder. "But I can't stand the thought of ever being without you."
My eyes started to cloud over at his confession, but I didn't dare try to wipe them away.
"I don't care what others think or what they say and I sure don't want to let them tear you away from me." He got down on one knee and smiled up at me. "Madison, I want you to be my wife. You're the only girl that's ever made me feel this way and I don't want to ever lose this feeling. Will you please marry me?"
I smiled uncontrollably and the tears overflowed.
"Yes." I said.
There was clapping and cheering as he placed the ring on my finger and I stood up, kissing him.
I knew that this was the right decision.
Even though things seemed to be moving too fast, I knew that this was just right...And I was excited to see where it would go.
