14. Chapter 14
I had never wanted to be with someone this badly before and the feelings were beginning to scare me non-stop.
Never had I ever felt a connection as strong as mine and Harry's.
It was strange and new to me, but I curious and needed to know more about this....
So, as I wiped down the counter and table in the kitchen, I talked with Harry on the phone.
"So, can you make it Saturday night?" I ask, referring to our movie date.
I had called him to ask what he wanted to eat and then he told me that his boss wanted him to work this Saturday.
"Yeah, I'll just be about half an hour late." He says.
"You can spend the night here, I don't mind." I say as I rinse the cloth out, going over things again.
"No, I wouldn't want to----"
"Harry, you're staying here. I trust you and I know that you won't try anything unless I let you...Please stay?" I ask.
I hear him sigh. "Fine."
"Thank you! Now, what do you want me to fix or order?" I ask.
I can almost feel him smiling from the other end of the phone. "Lets order something that way you don't have to cook."
I smiled, rolling my eyes.
He was taking the easy way out again. "Ok, what would you like for me to order?"
"Let me handle that. I'll pick something up before I get there." He says.
"It's already covered." He says.
It was my turn to sigh as I rinsed the cloth out and placed it near the sink.
"Alright." I said.
He chuckled and I ended up smiling.
"So, what will we be watching?" He asks.
"A movie." I say smartly.
He chuckles. "Madison." He says in a happy warning tone.
"What? It's the truth!" I say honestly.
"You know that I didn't mean that." He said.
"I know, but I love messing with you." I say giggling. "We'll be watching a very funny movie--That's all I'm gonna say!"
"That's not enough information." He says.
I smile, even though he can't see. "That's the point, I'm going to keep you guessing."
It was crazy how I could be myself and not worry about anything when I was talking to him...I was more confident.
"Alright then, I'll be fine with that...Since it's you." He says, laughter on the edge of his voice.
"Ok, so I'll see you at six-thirty then?" I ask.
"Defitnitely no later than six-thirty." He replies.
"Ok, love you." I say and he returns the words.
I hang up and then watch Josie as she walks into the kitchen.
"Jose, Harry will be spending the night tomorrow. He has to work a little later than usual so I'm just gonna let him crash here since he's coming over for our movie date." I say.
"Ok." She says.
As I lean against the counter, I watch Josie.
"So, do you wnat to do something today?" I ask her.
We were both quite bored and didn't really know what to do.
She smiled. "Let me take you shopping."
"What?" I asked, not believing the words.
"Let me take you shopping--As a gift for finally finding a guy who actually makes you feel something." She says.
"No, I'll be fine J----"
"No, we're going." She says. "Now get in the car." She points to the door smiling and I hang my head, following the direction of her finger.
We walked outside and got into her car, then she started driving until we had reached the small little mall in the middle of town.
Then it hit me, she was taking me shopping because she had something to tell me.
Some of our best conversations had been during shopping sprees.
Josie was never really good at sharing her feelings and I was ten times worser than her.
Shopping somehow helped her and I knew that thats why she was taking me.
When we got out of the car, she dragged me straight into Rue21(which just so happens to be my favorite store).
As we walked inside and started looking around, Josie followed me over to the lingerie.
I had never called bras and panties 'lingerie' until I actually realized what it meant. Afterwards, I started calling it that just to call it that.
Jose looked at me and I was paying attention to a very cute bra that was blue.
Her stare kind of got to me though and I looked over at her. "Yes?"
She looked away quickly. "Um, Madison?" She asked me.
"Yeah?" I replied.
"I, um...." She stuttered and when she stuttered I knew that what she was going to say was bad. "I heard something really bad really bad last night that I think you should know--I didn't tell you earlier because I didn't want to scare you, but it's been bothering me and I just--I have to tell you!"
Looking into her eyes, I noticed that they were fearful and I paid close attention to her.
"Harry's a convicted murderer." She said. "The police never arrested him because he lied his way out of it--Madison he could kill you!"
"Josie!" I whisper-shouted. "Harry isn't a killer, someone is just spreading rumors."
She looked into my eyes. "Would you believe it if I said that it was his sister?"
My eyes widened a bit. "It's a rumor, Jose. Quit fretting over them."
She sighed. "Don't just let my words fly by your mind! I'm telling you the truth!"
Looking into her eyes, my face turned serious. "It's ok. I'm safe and Harry isn't a criminal. I may have just met him, but Harry isn't like that."
She just looked at me as I continued to shop.
Whoever was placing these things in her head needed to stop.
I tried to comfort her, but slowly the rumors started circling my head and then I began to worry.
