13. Chapter 13
When she walked through the door, I knew that she was hiding something.
Her whole demeanor had seemed to change to a very hidden one--Which definitely wasn't like Josie.
"I'm sorry about earlier." She said.
"It's fine, I know how you are." I say.
She smiles softly.
"Why are you acting so strangely?" I ask, taking in how she's avoiding me.
"Oh, it's nothing." She says.
"Josie, talk." I say sternly.
She met my eyes and they gave off a fearful stance.
"Ok, there have been rumors circling about Harry lately, and they're not really good ones." She says.
"Josie, they're most likely not true, don't believe them." I say.
"I know, but I'm just worried about you! I don't want to see you get hurt." She said honestly.
"Everything is fine, nothing for you to worry about." I said.
"Like the fact that he could possibly be the a killer? Or a dealer?" She says.
My eyes widened at these words. "Jose, those aren't true--Harry would've said something!"
"Would he truly? After all, you two haven't been together for long." She says.
Doubts started rising within me, but I did my best to push them away.
"Josie, stop!" I said.
"What if you're some part of a plan of his--"
"And what if that bartendar guy didn't really mean that he'd come back?" I interrupt her. "What if, he just did everything to get you in bed and then once it was over and he got what he wanted, he left?"
"Tristian isn't that type!" She defends.
"Yeah? And my boyfriend is a murderer, right? Possibly even a dealer?" I say. "Tristian could be the same way--What if this situation were in reverse and Tristian was the one that had rumors following him? How would you react?"
That shut her up quickly and she just moved her gaze to the floor.
After a few minutes, she nods. "I'm sorry, I'm gonna go upstairs."
She left me standing there alone--Left me standing there---thinking about her words.
Why was everything so different between the two of us now?
All of a sudden things have chnaged and I'm wondering what the heck has happened.
Could it be because we haven't been spending as much friendship time together as we used to?
Something had to give, I know that it had been one day but still, it was never this way!
I ended up fixing dinner and then I went out onto the front steps to enjoy the night air.
Sleeping wasn't an option at the moment so I took the chance to stargaze.
As I watched the stars dance across the sky, I seen a shooting star trailing past the others.
I smiled and made a wish that I hoped would come true.....That wish was for Harry and I.
