“Phoebe and her mood swings are driving me crazy,” I flop onto Joey’s bed. “Being in London with you guys, taking some time off of work, and writing should help. I just want those babies out of her,” I groan.

“I can understand why you are over here all the time,” Joey chuckles.

“Poor Rachel has to stay with her.”

“It’s better that way,” he places his suitcase next to me. “We won’t be able to hang out as much, though.”

“That will suck,” I pout. “We can figure something out.”

“So, are we sitting next to each other on the plane?”

          “No, I’m by Monica.”

          “Sorry about that.”

“It’s fine. She’ll probably just ask a lot of questions about us.”

“I’m a great boyfriend,” he walks over and gives me a kiss.

“Mhm,” I hum. “And you will be a great best man. In a sexy suit.” I grab his shirt and pull him for another kiss.

“Ah,” Joey giggles. “Distracting me.” He pulls away and goes back to his closet. “I can’t wait to see you in a wedding dress.”

          “Marrying me now, huh?”

          “Oh, no, I meant-”

“I know, Joseph. Maybe I want to marry you, though.”

“I thought you wanted to take things slow.”

“I do. It’s just, marriage is so lovely, I’ve always marveled at it. I’m not ready yet, however, so no worries.”

“This is why I like you.”

“So, the bachelor party was all good?”

“It was. You won’t like that there were strippers.”

“It’s cool. Do what you want.”

          “Oh man, you are perfect.”

I chuckle, “I try my hardest.”

“Also, my duck at the ring, so he had to have surgery.”

“I think Chandler told me about that. He’s all good, right?”

“Yeah. He’s resting in the tub.”

“That’s good.” A sigh escapes my lips.

          “Something wrong, cupcake?”

I giggle at the pet name. “No, nothing. I’m just baffled at how fast everything is going. I’ve only been in the city a few months and my life has changed so much.”

          “For the better?”

“No doubt in my mind, cupcake.”

“Hey,” Joey spins around to look at me. “Are you teasing me? Do you think cupcake is stupid?”

“Oh no, not at all,” I push up onto my elbows. “It’s cute. You’re cute.”

He smiles, “Do you like distracting?”

“Eh,” I shrug. “You made it easy to. Plus, I’m already done with my suitcase and carry-on, so I want to do stuff.”

“The girls could talk with you and do stuff.”

I roll my eyes, “I meant with you.”

“Oh, well, I have to pack.”

“I know,” I fall back onto my back. “What else should we talk about?”

Joey turns back to his closet once again. “Not much else has happened. Oh, how is your job?”

“Oh yeah, I have one of those,” I laugh. “It’s good. I got that one promotion I talked about. I’m slowly moving up.”

“I’m proud of you, um, honey. No, sweetheart.”

          “Cupcake was fine, Joey.”

          “I’m proud anyways.”

“Thank you,” I smile. “How’s acting?”

“Could be better. I’m not going to stop trying to get into TV, but right now plays are all I can lang. And a ruined movie chance.”

          “Oh Joey. I’m sorry.”

          “Don’t be. It’s fine.”

“Well, you have to get through bad times to reach the good ones.”

          “I hope that’s right.”

“Hey Joey, do you want Chinese?” Chandler walks into Joey’s room, just barely noticing me. “Ashley, what are you doing?”

“Seems like I’m getting Chinese,” I joke.

“For real. Why are you in here? On Joey’s bed, no less.”

          “Helping Joey pack.”

“More like distracting me,” Joey places some clothes in his suitcase.

“I don’t like it,” Chandler crosses his arms over his chest.

“Grown woman, Chandler,” I stare at my brother.

“We haven’t done anything, dude,” Joey speaks up. “No need to worry.”

“Fine. I trust you,” Chandler sighs.

“Good. Now, I think you have some Chinese to order,” I smirk.

“Don’t push me,” Chandler messes with my hair.

I swat at his hands, a frown on my lips. “Just go order it.”

“Okay, I’m going,” he exits the room.

I wait until I hear him on the phone to speak up. “Tad close there.”

“It was fine,” Joey places more items of clothing into his suitcase. “He’s not that smart.”

“Not in these situations it seems,” I smile, the tension leaving my body. “I’m just not ready to tell him.”

“So we don’t. We will wait for the right time. It will come.”

“You’re right. No need to rush. We are taking it slow. One day at a time.”

“I’m so glad I met you.”

“I am too. You make me so happy, and I love distracting you.”

“Gah,” Joey throws his hands into the air. “I just can’t resist you.”

          “It’s hard.”

          “So cocky, I love it.”

          “And me?”

“And you. Now let me pack, woman.”

I giggle, “Okay, okay. I’ll stop talking for a little bit.”

          “Thank you.”

I smile, my heart swelling as it settles in that Joey, in a way, said he loves me. He may not of even realized it, but it makes me know just how much I care about him.
