He sat on the couch, waiting for Minah to come back from the kitchen. He told himself that he was prepared to do anything she said. He kept fidgeting in his seat, waiting in anticipation. While waiting, he even surprised himself, thinking about his friends and family, thinking about how he missed them.
-"Here, eat this. I know you're hungry." Minah came back, carrying a bowl of ramen.
-"No, tell me condition. I want my life back. I don't care about how people think of me; I don't care about the consequences. I'll do whatever you ask." He said confidently.
-"No, I won't eat unless you tell me your condition."
-"You are so stubborn, just eat!"
He gave no reply, ignoring her. She cursed a bad word under her breath.
-"I won't tell you the condition until you eat every last bit of this ramen," She said, backfiring his words.
His eyes widened before snatching the bowl and immediately downed and slurped the noodles. Within 30 seconds, he slammed the bowl on the table.
-"Tell me now."
She rolled her eyes at how desperate he really was.
-"Prove. Prove to me that you can change into a better person." She simply said.
-"Really? That's it? That shouldn't be hard.." He said.
-"Don't be so cocky, from what I've seen and heard, it'd be pretty hard."
-"No. I'll do whatever it takes. Whatever it takes to go back."
-"Sure, whatever." She said unconvinced.
She stood up, taking the bowl and headed for the kitchen.
-"No, let ME wash it. As a thanks for giving me a chance." Jongin said, snatching the bowl.
She raised an eyebrow, shaking her head at the sudden change of attitude.
-"How more fake can you get?" She said in disbelief.
-"I stick to my words; I'll do whatever it takes."
She pulled out a chair by the dining table and sat down to observe his actions. She stared at him in confusion as he stood in front of the sink, not moving.
-"What's wrong? Do you not know how to wash dishes?" She joked.
He didn't reply, staring at the dirty bowl with a soapy sponge in his hand.
-"No way, how do you not know how to wash dishes?"
-"My hyungs wash the dishes. I never do it." He confessed.
-"It's pretty obvious. Just do how you think washing dishes would be like."
After washing dishes, they sat down on the couch. Both sat on each opposite sides. Minah crossed her legs and rested her head on her palm.
-"I've been meaning to ask.." Jongin spoke, breaking the silence.
-"Nobody knows me, but that doesn't mean everyone..my friends and family they're alive and well, right?"
-"Mhm, they just don't know you. Nobody but me."
-"Can I see them? They have a concert next week, which I was preparing for before I got kidnapped and was taken to a reality where nobody knows me." He said, turning his head and glaring at Minah.
-"Ehh, I don't know." She shrugged, unsure.
-"After what you just said? You're really making it difficult for me and especially for yourself."
-"Wait- I'm sorry, please I just need to see them."
After ordering the tickets, Minah showed Jongin where he would be sleeping. But he couldn't sleep, thinking about the events that had happened during the day. He still couldn't get used to the fact that he was a nobody. Nobody knows he exists.
But other than that, he wondered why Minah was doing this. Why did she target him? Did she have something against Jongin?
The next morning, Jongin awoke and sat up. He rubbed his eyes, then saw clothes at the foot of the bed. A white button up long sleeve, black skinny jeans, boxer briefs, and socks. He stared at the clothes, wondering how she would know his sizes.
(I'm pretty sure everyone knows, Kai...)
He got out of bed, carrying his clothes in his arms and opened the door to the bathroom. After taking a shower, changing into the clothes given to him, brushing his teeth with an unused toothbrush in the bathroom, he went to the kitchen to see Minah cooking food.
-"Good morning," He greeted.
Minah continued cooking without saying anything. Since he didn't have anything to do, he prepared the table by putting out plates, spoons, forks, and cups. He opened the fridge to see orange juice, so he took it out and pour some into the cups.
Minah was a bit surprised by his actions, but pushed it aside thinking he's forcing himself. After Jongin prepared the table, he sat down in one of the chairs and stared at Minah's back that was facing him as she cooked.
-"Oh yeah Minah?"
-"Where are your parents?"
