28. Chapter 27
We all laugh and have fun. "Glad to see you two are back together." Michael tells me. I smile. The song changes to a slow song. And Luke frowns. "Poop." He grumbles and follows Calum to the table. I turn to Ash and we dance, slowly. "Thank you." I whisper to him. "For what?" He asks. "For loving me." "It's hard not to." He says, just like that one night. I smile and he smiles back. He spins me and I laugh. The song changes back to a fast song and Calum comes back and Luke follows. "Finally,it was like a million years." Calum complains. We dance around as the big, inseparable group we are. And I wouldn't trade it for the world.
I collapse onto my bed, wearing my footie pajamas, next to Ashton. "I love you." I tell him. "I love you," He echoes. "I have to go now." He tells me getting up. I follow him to my balcony door. "Be careful." I whisper. "I will." He climbs down the tree and waves to me before he walks off. I close the door and smile. I lay in bed, thinking about the band, and the future. I drift off into a deep sleep.
I sigh. Football is over and I'm kinda disappointed. "You gonna join the team next year?" Gretta asks. I shake my head. "No. I've had fun, yeah, but I just don't really want to." I tell her and we walk down the hall to our lockers. Her's is father down the hall from mine. I take out my bag and phone and walk down to where Michael's waiting. I climb into his car and we drive home. "School ends in a week, then summer at last." He tells me. "I know. It's almost been an entire year since I moved here." I say, getting out of the car. I walk inside and take off my cleats. I change into a flannel red and black shirt with black skinny jeans. I sit outside in the front yard with Michael and we talk. Soon,Ashton comes over and sits next to me. We talk more and more as the others come over, one by one. "Soon,we'll be seniors and then we'll graduate." Calum says, lying on the ground, looking at the clouds. "Yup." I reply. "I can't wait." Allison says. "You know what we are?" Luke asks. "Inseparable." We all say in unison. "Inseparable," I repeat. "Inseparable."
