18. Chapter 17
"Where is the Christmas tree gonna go?" I ask. "It usually goes in the great room." Karen tells me. I nod. It's the day after Thanksgiving and I'm helping Karen put up the Christmas decorations. "Do you want me to get Michael?" I ask, pointing to the stairs behind us. "Yes,please." She says and I run to his door. I knock on it. "What?" He asks, opening the door. "We need your help." I say and we walk downstairs. "Oh,I see." Michael says. He walks over into the great room and pushes a the chairs back against the wall and the couch over a bit. "The box is in the basement closet." Karen tells him. He nods and runs down to the basement. The doorbell rings. I open the front door and see Ashton standing there. "Hey." I say and let him in. "Hi." He hangs up his coat and takes off his shoes. I kiss him. "What's up?" I ask. "Nothing, just wanted to hang out." I smile. "Hi,Ashton." Karen says. "Hi," Michael pushes a box up the stairs and falls flat on his back on the floor. "Hey,Michael." Ashton says. "Oh hi." Michael gets up and helps Karen put the tree up. "How's it going?" I ask. "Great, now that I'm with you." He says and I smile. "I was thinking about you all day." I tell him. "Really?" He asks. "Yeah. It's cause I love you." "I love you toooooooooo." He tells me and we laugh.
We decorate the Christmas tree and Calum comes over with Luke. I smile at the tree. I'm lying on the couch with Ashton. "Where's Allison?" I ask Michael. He shrugs. "I think she's still in Melbourne, but she might be driving here now." I nod. I kiss Ashton's cheek. "You two are so weird." Calum says. "At least I have a girlfriend." Ashton says and we all laugh, even Calum. "When's the Christmas party?" Luke asks Michael. "Probably a few days before Christmas, why?" Luke shrugs. "Christmas party?" I ask. "Another party they throw every year." Ash tells me. "Oh." I say and play with his fingers. I'm weird, don't judge. The doorbell rings. Michael opens it. Allison walks in and Michael hangs up her coat. "I'm back, bitches." She says and we laugh. "How was Melbourne?" I ask. "Same as always." She answers. "Right." I reply.
Ashton writes down the math problem. He's helping me with math homework. "How do you find X?" He asks. "You multiply 45 and 24," He nods. "And then subtract the answer from the product?" He shakes his head. "You divide." "Oh." I do the math and he tells me I did good. I kiss him. "Only because you helped me." He smiles. I put my homework aside. I put my head on his lap. "Ash." I say. "Yeah?" "Why are you so good at math?" I ask. And he laughs. "I don't know." He kisses me.
