LoveBites

''Love isn't soft , like those poets say.Love has teeth which bite and the wounds never close'' *Stephen King // Copyright@Bonnie Lovely// There was something about her... something that pulled him in. She seemed so familiar. And then she disappeared. One minute she was standing there, then the next there was just an oblivious crowd; the spot she was standing just a blank space. She'd only been there for only a second-maybe even less but he’d seen her. He was sure of it. . A part of him wanted to get out of his chair and race outside the Cafe and search the crowed until he found her but a another part of him-the rational part- told him that it had only been his imagination. That there’d been no one standing there. That it was all in his head….

5. *Chapter Two

PREVIOUSLY

Christian looked over at Mitchel in dull surprise.  He’d zoned out…lost in his thoughts. ‘’What?’’

‘’I said are you still going?’’

‘’Going where?’’ Christian says a crease forming between his brows. Mitchel looked at him annoyed.  ‘’To Alyssa’s party on Friday. You said you’d go…’’

Truth is Christian didn’t think he was up for partying or anything else…

All he really wanted to do was go home and dig a hole in his bed that he’d never get out of. Partying was no were near his to do list.

And yet I could do with a little distraction, Christian thought as he glanced nonchalantly at the bypassing strangers as they walked by the cafe.

Sitting on a bench was an old man sitting on a bench with salt and pepper hair, a newspaper in his hands…

A group of teenagers laughing about something the other had said maybe…

A women with a bun at the back of her neck, wearing a grey suit…

A couple, maybe, walking had –in-hand across a street walk...

But it was the girl that had grabbed at his attention…

He had no idea what had made him look in that particular spot or what had grabbed his attention in the first place.

Her back was facing him so all he could see was her long wavy hair that was so pale it was almost white.  She stood right in the middle of the crowd, but no one bumped into her or jostled her. It was as if there was a small invisible bubble around her and no one dared to enter it...

There was something about her... something that pulled him in.

Christian sighed running his hand over his tired eyes. ‘’Maybe…but right now I’m just-‘’

‘’Not feeling it. .’’

Christian wondered how many times he might’ve said that. That he wasn’t ‘’feeling it’’ or if he’d said something similar.  He wondered if his friend was pissed at him for blowing him off so much these past few weeks. Or spacing out so much. But nothing in his voice or facial expression proved Christian right and if he was right Mitchell was hiding it.

For a moment they were both quite. But then all of a sudden Mitchell  leaned forward a little and in a very low voice said. ‘’ Did you hear…?’’ Mitchell paused for a moment as his eyes glanced around the Café searching for anyone close enough to hear what he was about to say. Apparently there was because he continued. ‘’….about the two girls. They were found dead in the lake. My dad thinks it was an animal attack.''
