“I think this call’s for a drink to celebrate said Peter.’

They drank a tot of whiskey each to seal the deal.’

“I will get my solicitor to check over the deeds Peter then as soon as you want to put your feet up my sister will be ready to take over. You could do me a big favour though.’

“Yes anything to help.’

“Could you show Steve the ropes for a week or so?’

“No problem Bobby.’

Great stuff; he will begin tonight if you don’t mind said Maggie.’

“No time like the present said Steve.’

“Right then we will see you later then Peter said Steve as he shook hands again before he left.

“Well you just bought yourselves a pub.’

Thank you Bobby how did you get him to drop the price.’

“With some slick negotiating Maggie.’

Thanks’ Bobby’ said Maggie as she kissed his cheek as he got into the car and drove them back.’

“Well that’s you both sorted out for the rest of your lives; I suggest that you get some packing boxes and Just take what you need to the new house. The washer, cooker, and fridge you can give away. Steve will know someone who will move you into your new home and sort everything that needs doing to the pub.

I can get those from a mate of mine said Steve.’

Right then I think we should get back and have some lunch before Maggie takes her first driving lesson.’

“What do you fancy for dinner?’

“A Bacon sandwich sounds good to me Maggie.’

“Bobby can you have words with your friends; I want to serve an all day breakfast in the pub. Then I’m going to serve meals that we all grew up with – mince and dumplings, pan haggerty, Leek pudding, home made broth and fish and chips with mushy peas.

“This is not high end this is home cooking at its best and I’m going to provide it.’

I will get some menus printed off and laminated.’

“I think you are on a winner there Maggie keep it simple and if it works don’t try and fix it.’

Steve whilst I’m on my driving lesson ring around your pals and get them ready to start moving by Monday then at the weekend I want to begin modernising that kitchen in the pub first so we can get the business started as soon as we can.’

Right pet I will do that.’

What are you going to do Bobby?’

“I’m going to help Steve pack some of your stuff once he gets the boxes sorted.

Good.’

Maggie placed some bacon under the grill then cut some fresh bread to make sandwiches with.’

Steve got the plates and the HP sauce ready.

Bobby filled the kettle and emptied the teapot of old teabags and placed four more in then took down three mugs from the mug tree. Maggie passed them the milk and sugar. Steve got a spoon from the drawer.

When the bacon was ready Maggie made the sandwiches and placed them on the table.
