I woke up to my mom calling me downstairs for breakfast. I slowly rolled myself out from out of my warm covers. On the floor were my shoes that I wore the night before.
"I never break my promises." His raspy voice replayed in my head.
I finally decided to go downstairs to eat after I came to the conclusion I would never see Harry again after last night. He had no way to get a hold of me anyway.
"Morning, sleeping beauty." My mom said.
"Morning." I said groggily.
"How was the party last night? I guessed you stayed out late, seeing you are extremely tired at 1:48." My mom said, glancing at the time.
"Shit, it's that late?"
"Watch your language, and yes it's that time. Do you have somewhere to be?"
"Yeah, Matt invited me to a family gathering lunch, thing. It started at 1."
"Well then you better hurry up, and get your butt moving."
I pulled onto Matt's street, and parked in front of a strangers house because there was no room near his.
God, he has a lot of family, I thought.
Once I got to the door, it opened right away.
"Hey, babe. I've been waiting for you." Matt said, pulling me into the house.
"Yeah, sorry. I ended up sleeping in. Last night was pretty strange." I responded.
"Mhhmmm…so how are you with that? You're okay, right?"
"I'm good, yeah. There's no possible way he can get a hold of me anyway, so it's nothing to worry about."
"Yeah, that makes sense. Well, my brother actually needed to ask you something. I need to go find someone." He said quickly, almost walking away.
"Wait, which brother?" I asked, knowing he had two brothers.
"Liam(Payne, yes I made up a brother) I think he's somewhere in the kitchen." He replied, then continued walking.
I turned towards the direction of the kitchen and started walking. I turned my head to see every nook and cranny, but my height didn't help much, with people towering above me. I finally saw Liam's face and approached him.
"Hey Liam, Matt said you needed to talk to me." I said.
"Oh yeah, you went to the frat party, last night, right?"
"Okay, well someone left a ring at the frat house, and it has your initials engraved into it, so I was wondering if it was yours."
I looked down at my hand, and noticed that the ring my dad got for me last Christmas was gone.
"Fuck, I didn't even know it was missing. I hope it is."
Liam reached down in his pocket to pull out my silver ring, and held it out to me.
I reached for it. "Thank god. I would…"
"Let me help you out with that, love." A larger hand got to the ring before mine. The hand held my hand and slipped the ring onto my finger.
I looked up to see the same emerald eyes that pierced me the night before.
"Harry, you made it!" Liam said, enthused.
"Yeah, man. I wouldn't miss it for the world." He replied to Liam, while looking at me with a smirk on his face.
He finally turned to Liam to give him a "bro hug".
"So how have you been doing? You want anything to eat, drink?" Liam asked.
"I'll take a beer, if there is any." Harry answered.
"Yup, I'll be right back." Liam said, leaving me with Harry.
He looked at me. "You want a helpful tip, love? While my waking in here, I saw your supposed boyfriend flirting with another girl."
"And why should I believe you?" I asked.
"You don't have to believe me, Chels, see it for yourself. Turn around."
I turned to see Matt pulling a girl up the stairs trying to sneak up, without anyone seeing. I turned back to Harry who was smiling evilly, then winked at me.
"Told you so." He said.
"You're a jerk." I said, right as Liam walked back with two beers in his hand, handing one to Harry. "I'm going to find Matt, now." Speaking to Liam.
I walked up the steps. Slowly, not wanting to have the conversation I was about to have. When I reached the top of the steps, Matt, with tussled hair walked out of the bathroom, alone. He looked up in guilt at me.
"Hey, Chels. What are you doing up here?" He asked.
"Umm, I was actually just looking for you."
"Well, I'm here. I just needed to get away from family."
I nodded my head, when the girl also walked out from the bathroom. I felt the tears start to gather in my eyes.
"Chels, it's not what it looks like." Matt called after me.
"Then what does it look like in your eyes, Matt?"
The girl walked right past us, down the stairs not caring about what was happening.
"She's a cousin, and she has Down syndrome, so I had to help her out." He lied.
"That is the shittiest bullshit I have ever heard, Matt. I'm not fucking stupid." The tears began to move down my cheeks.
"Chelsea, I'm sorry, it was a mistake. Just like you and that guy last night."
"This has nothing to do with last night. It was absolutely different."
"But, it still hurt me, Chels."
I stayed silent, sort of feeling guilty.
"Please, Chels, just think about it before you make a rash decision." He kissed the top of my head and walked down the stairs.
I turned to see Harry's eyes. They looked angry, disappointed. He shook his head, then turned to Liam and said something. He walked quickly to the front door, slamming it on his way out, making everyone at the party be silent for a second.
After my eyes got less puffy, I got the courage to finally walk through the crowd of people so I could get out of the house.
I began to drive to the end of the road, but then a car parked in front of mine, so I couldn't move.
"Are you fucking serious?" I said to myself.
I was about to back up and go around the car when I saw Harry get out of the parked car. He still look just as pissed as he did when he left the party around 15 minutes ago.
He motioned for me to get out of the car, but I continued backing, too scared to talk to him. I started moving forward when Harry ran right in front of the car. I hit my brakes hard before I hit Harry. He crossed his arms and waited for me. I opened the door and stood outside of it, not wanting to get any closer to him.
"What the hell, Harry? I could've hit you."
"Yeah, well he could end up hitting you, Chelsea. One thing leads to another, but I didn't hear you end it with Matt." He was really pissed.
"This is none of your business. I just met you last night. Why do you care anyway? You don't know me, and I'm sure as hell I don't know you." I snapped.
"That isn't the point." He said to get me off the topic. "No woman deserves to be treated like that, and if you're stupid enough to go back to him, maybe you deserve to be treated that way."
He walked angrily to his car and drove away.
