"Wait, so he actually said that to you?" Olivia asked me through the phone.
"Yeah, and then he just drove off."
"God, Chels. I wish I was there. You're probably having a hard time finding Matt like that too. What a jackass. Both of them." She said.
"Yeah, so when are you coming back? I am getting bored to death hiding away in my room."
"I am staying here for two more weeks. But my advice would be, say goodbye to both the dicks and go party with Sean, Tyler, and Emily at a club or something."
"I don't know. I'm not in the mood for the social life."
"I don't give a shit, Chels. Do it for me? Please?"
"Fine, but I don't want to."
"Okay, well I got to go, Chels. I'll talk to you later."
"Yup, bye." I said, hanging up the phone.
I quickly texted Matt.
Hey, Matt, we need to talk. Meet me at the park in 15.
I soon got to the park, and it looked like Matt had got there before me.
"Hey." Matt said once he saw me, trying to smile so there wasn't as much tension.
"Hey, Matt. I don't know if we should continue, like this."
"But, you're not even going to try to talk through this, it's just going to be over?"
"Matt, I've thought of it, and I just don't want to be hurt."
"Of course. As always, it's always about you. You selfish bitch. You don't care about anyone but you're fucking self. 'I just don't want to get hurt'? What about me Chelsea?" He yelled. "You know what? Fine. I didn't care anyway." He ran to his car without saying anything else.
I finally released a breath that I didn't know that I was holding. I reached for my phone after I felt it vibrate on my leg.
Hey, bitch, Olivia told me we're going to the club tonight. Be ready at 8. See you then. Xoxo
I stood in front of the mirror. My straight black hair just sat on my lower back, just hanging there. My green dress hit mid thigh. Usually I wouldn't wear a dress that short, but Olivia bought it for me for my birthday last year, so I decided to wear it at least once in my life.
I heard my phone buzz on my dresser.
We are waiting outside. Hurry up!
I rushed downstairs and out the door. Luckily my mom wasn't home for the next three days cause she was on a business trip, so I didn't have to worry about curfew or anything like that.
"Hey girl. You ready to party?" Sean asked.
"As ready as I'll ever be." I answered honestly. "Where's Em?"
"She said she'll meet us there, and she'll probably be late." Tyler said. "She said she got grounded, so she plans on sneaking out."
I laughed. Of course she would have to sneak out. She was always the more rebellious one, while I was just one of the lonely, quiet sidekicks.
Once we got to the club doors, they asked to see our IDs. All of ours was fake because we were all juniors. Mine showed I had just turned 21 a week ago, with the name Breanna Greyson.
I could feel the heat of dancing bodies right when I walked in. The humidity was almost overwhelming. I smiled at the huge flock of people partying. I looked to my left and saw a familiar face. Matt. He was with another girl.
Sean and Tyler found where my eyes were looking. "God, what a jackass!" Tyler yelled over the music. "What you need right now is a drink, here it's on me, go get wasted." He handed me some cash and pushed me towards the bar.
I laughed and continued walking towards the bar.
"I'll take a shot of tequila, please." I said knowing I'd need a lot of alcohol to have fun tonight.
"Okay, I'll need to see some ID." The bartender said while turning around. "Look who it is." He said once he saw my face.
I looked up to see the dark curly hair of Harry.
"You don't have to follow me around, love, you could just ask me out already." He said. "And last I heard, you were too young for alcohol." He was smiling, apparent he was amused.
I stayed silent, trying not to look at him, embarrassed that I kept meeting him like this.
"You going to show me some ID, love?" He winked at me, playing along with my illegal actions.
I finally decided to hand him my fake ID, knowing I still have to stay here until Tyler and Sean choose to leave. "Please just give me the drink."
"Okay, Breanna Greyson, age 21, address 3547 Hurdley Ln. I wonder if that part is true." He smirked wickedly. "Here's your shot." He winked at me then walked to serve the next customer.
I quickly drank my shot, and went out to the dance floor to find Ty and Sean. When I found them, Emily was with them.
"There you are!" Emily shouted at me. "I heard what happened, and I'm so sorry."
"No, it's fine. I came here to have fun, not worry about that shit, so let's dance." I said, pulling them all with me to dance.
I felt the alcohol kick in after a while, and it was a good feeling. I was having fun. Then I felt a body move up behind me, and pull me close.
I continued to dance not caring what would happen, when I saw Harry angrily waking in my direction. I froze. He planted his fist on the mans face that was dancing with me.
"What the hell?" The man yelled.
I stepped in front of Harry, before he could move towards him to cause him more harm. "What the hell was that for?" I screamed, and walked towards the man to help him up. I felt a huge hand wrap around me and pull me back.
"Chelsea, you need to stay away from him, he'll hurt you." Harry spoke.
"I thought you said I deserved it." I could see his face soften, like me saying that hurt him. Tears swelled up in my eyes, threatening to come out. I remembered how much I hurt from the day before. I turned to Emily. "I'm going to walk home. I'll see you later."
"Okay." She said.
I walked away from everything, and straight out the door.
