It was 7am by the time I actually started seeing houses again; they were beach houses. The sun was shining brightly through the windows, feeling nice and warm on my skin.
My phone began to vibrate, and the caller ID was Tyler. I decided I'd ignore his call, not wanting to make Harry upset by taking a call on his day with me.
"So where are we?" I asked.
"The beach." He smiled.
"That's a very broad answer."
"Well, it was a very broad question. Don't worry, we didn't go out of the country."
The car finally stopped in front of a huge beach house. It was probably one of the bigger one's there. Harry grabbed the one back pack I brought and carried it towards the door.
"You coming?" He asked, turning back towards the car.
"Anyone here yet?" Harry called once we were in the house.
"Wait, I didn't know that there were gunna be other people."
"Hah, you think I'm that much of a creep? Nah, I invited some friends so you can get to know me more. They say that you can tell someone your three closest friends, and you'll know that person pretty well."
Then footsteps were heard from upstairs. I looked to see a blonde guy come running down the steps.
"You made it, mate." He said. "And this is the famous Chelsea." He held out his hand to shake mine.
"Nice to meet you…" I started.
"Niall. And the pleasure's all mine." He turned to Harry. "Natalie, Lucas, and Louis said they are about an hour away."
"Okay, well I guess we can make breakfast then." Harry said. "What should we have?"
"Harry, you don't know how to make anything besides toast." Niall commented.
"Well then, I guess that you can make your own breakfast and I will make pancakes and eggs for Chels and I."
"Okay. Fine by me." Niall said, then turned to me. "I'll order an extra breakfast for you, too."
I laughed. "Okay, go ahead."
"You have a cute laugh." Niall said, smiling at me.
I felt the blood rush to my cheeks. "Thanks." I saw Harry over Niall's shoulder.
He looked annoyed. "Niall, why don't you go order your breakfast elsewhere."
"Okay, I will talk to you later." He said, then left the room.
I walked over to Harry, but he was still annoyed and kept his back to me.
"Is there anything I can do?" I asked.
I could tell from his back that he was still very tense, and trying to keep calm. He swiftly turned to me, and lifted me up on the counter top. "Yes, there is something you can do. You can sit here and look pretty," I could hear anger in his voice. "But not for anyone else, just for me. You understand me, love? I brought you here. You are mine, not Niall's, not Matt's, not anyone's, but mine."
I nodded my head knowing that if I spoke my throat would just choke. He got back to the pancakes and eggs. I just sat there until the food was ready.
"Harry, who's house did we stop at this morning?" I asked, waiting for Harry to finish eating.
He looked at my face, checking for sincerity. "It was my mom."
"Oh, okay." Not wanting to say anything else.
"I'm sorry I freaked out on you, Chels. I was frustrated, but I don't want to keep you from talking to me. I love the sound of your voice. I don't want you to be afraid of talking to me. I'll prove it to you. Ask me anything."
I kept quiet, in shock.
"Okay, I'll just tell you. My mom is a drug addict and became abusive me and my father when I was three, so my dad ended up leaving me on my fourth birthday. I left the house when I was 14, and lived with Lucas and his family, who you will meet sometime today. Ever since I got a job, my mom always calls me up for money so she can get more drugs. That's why we stopped there this morning. Whenever I see her call, part of me wants her to say that she just wants to talk or need money for rehab, but I never hear that. I don't know where my dad is, and I don't want to. Chels, please talk to me. There's nothing you can say that will make me angry at you. My parents decided take all my anger for themselves."
I felt the pressure of the room building, making it a little uncomfortable for me, and probably for Harry too.
"I was just going to ask you what your favorite animal was." I said, trying to keep a straight face.
He chuckled, bringing me in his arms. Surprisingly I hugged him back.
"Chels," He said, not letting go of me. "Promise me you'll actually give me a chance today, and that you aren't going to play me."
I felt warm, protected, loved. "I promise."
"You ready to get the party started?" a voice called from the door.
Our embrace ended as Harry pulled me to the front door. There was a girl and two boys. Niall came running downstairs.
"Hey, guys. This is Chelsea." Harry said. "Chelsea, this is Louis, Natalie, and Lucas."
"Hi." I said.
After everyone settled down, we decided to walk to the beach.
"You gunna come out to the water?" Harry asked me.
"Nah, I'll go out later."
He took his shirt off and winked. "Okay, but you're missing out."
He ran towards the water with Niall, Lucas, and Natalie. Louis chose to stay back with me.
"So how did you and Harry meet?" Louis asked.
"I met him at a frat party." Leaving the details out.
He laughed. "That's romantic. He's always been that way though. The 'party guy' people would call it."
"Yeah, I won't argue." I said.
I looked towards Harry. He was pretty goofy, playing around with his friends. I almost forgot that I am sort of scared of him. I found myself smiling, enjoying his presence. His eyes ended up connecting with mine. I looked down. I didn't want to give him any reason to think I liked him.
"You should go join him." Louis said, breaking my train of thought.
"No, I'm good staying here for now."
"You sure?" He asked.
"Harry!" Louis called. "She said she's ready for a swim! But she doesn't want to walk there alone, and I don't want to walk there just to walk back." He stood up and looked at me. "Good luck, love."
At first I was confused on who he was talking about, but then I saw Harry running towards us.
"Oh, my god! Are you serious, right now? Harry, I really rather not swim at the moment." I tried.
"Well I'm not gunna abandon ship and go back without a treasure." Harry said, quickly picking me up.
I laughed. "You're really gunna make me go in?"
"I'm not gunna make you, I'm just gunna carry you in."
"Smartass." I squirmed, trying to get out of his arms.
The water got to Harry's mid thigh when he decided to throw me in. Once I got my head out from under the water, Harry grabbed me again. Niall started to splash me so I turned to face Harry. I looked up at to see him staring down at me. His hand moved to my face, pushing one of my strands of hair off of my face. I bit my lip, looking down, a little embarrassed. He put his hand on my chin, bringing my face up to his.
"Get a room!" Lucas yelled.
Harry smiled, causing me to. "We can finish this later." He whispered.
