Sydney is very quiet at midnight.
The city is still,
all the lights off,
everything is quiet.
Michael plays the radio quietly humming along to his favorite songs.
"Why did you come for me?" I ask.
"I missed you," he replies.
"I missed you too," I say back.
He gives me a kiss on the cheek and I smile.
"I can't believe my parents won't let me see you anymore," I say to him.
"We can work it out," he says.
"Sneaking around late at night? That's not going to work every night, Michael." I say.
"Yes, it will."
"I'm pretty sure my parents will figure out," I sigh.
"Let's just live in the moment, just enjoy our time together," Michael says.
"Where are you taking me anyway?"
Lying in his bed,
just us together.
Everything is perfect.
Because I'm with Michael.
But it can never be simple with Michael.
My parents will get in the way,
sneaking around won't work.
Because it can never be simple with Michael.
