CALUM'S POINT OF VIEW
I helped April to the principals office.
Mrs. Patty seemed pissed, and I wasn't sure how this was gonna go down. I would probably get in a ton of trouble.
I sat April down in one of the chairs that were in Mrs. Patty's office. April looked up at me, giving me a sweet smile before looking back down.
The thoughts of her screaming that she hates me, ran threw my head. I hope she didn't mean it.
I looked around the room for a bit. My eyes landed on the first aid kit in the corner of the room. I walked over and grabbed it, then sat down in the chair next to April.
"Where does it hurt?" I asked.
It was a stupid question because I knew that it hurt everywhere.
"My leg." She said.
I opened the first aid kit and grabbed the wrap.
She was in shorts so I started to put some wrap around her leg where there was a big bruise.
"Thanks Calum." April said starting to tear up.
"What's wrong?" I asked worried.
"Oh nothing, nothing." She said smiling and running her had under her eyes.
Mrs. Patty walked in and sat at her desk with a sigh.
"Look, April, Calum, you are good students that I appreciate, so please tell me how this happened." Mrs. Patty said.
I looked over at April, because I had no idea how it started.
"Well I was standing at my locker, then Colin walked up to me and said something. Then he started to beat me up, and then Calum came running over." April confessed.
"What did he say to you?" Mrs. Patty asked.
"Um, I don't know." April muttered.
"Alright then, Calum?" She said looking at me.
"I saw Colin hurting April so I ran over to help." I said.
"But why did you get involved?" Mrs. Patty interrogated.
"Because! He was beating my best friend and I wasn't gonna just sit there and watch!" I said with anger and annoyance.
Mrs. Patty looked a little taken back by my rage. She gave me a look and smiled, looking to April who was looking down, then back at me. I blushed and looked down.
"Alright." Mrs. Patty said with the slightest chuckle. "Well I'm sorry kids, but because you were involved in a fight like this, I need to suspend you for a week."
"What?!" April yelled.
"I'm sorry guys, your both great students but it's the rules, I'll call your parents, you two can leave." Mrs. Patty said.
April and I both stood up and walked out.
"I can't believe this." April mumbled.
"It's not that bad, at least we get a full week off." I smiled.
She looked up at me and her eyes softened. A smile grew on her face.
"Yeah I guess you're right." She laughed.
I laughed along with her as we walked down the halls.
"Uh Calum." April said.
"I'm sorry, for uh, saying that I hate you, I didn't mean it, I'm really sorry." She said looking down.
I reached my arm around holding her shoulder, pulling her into a side hug and resting my head on top of hers.
"I know April, I know you didn't mean it." I whispered.
It was silent for a little while, but not awkward. April started to laugh then shoved me off of her.
"You got me suspended you dick." She laughed.
"I'm sorry, but I had to do something." I chuckled.
I thought about what my sister had told me. To ask April out on a date. But I didn't want to get rejected.
"Hey, do you uh, wanna go get some ice cream, since we don't have to be in school?" I asked.
"Yeah that sounds good." April smiled. "But only if you carry me."
"Fine." I said like I was annoyed, when it actually didn't bother me at all.
April jumped up on my back and I took hold of her legs.
"So this is what it's like being a giraffe." April blurt out.
"Are you saying I'm too tall?" I questioned.
"Yup. Now onward my steed." April called out pointing.
I made a horse noise and started to walk towards the door.
While I walked away from the school with April on my back I started to think. But it wasn't good thinking, it was boy thinking. I started to think about me and April, at first in sweet ways, then in dirty ways. Then my body started to tingle where I felt April. Her arms hanging over my shoulders and her legs wrapped around my waist.
Then, I actually moaned, like unintentionally. I slapped my hand up to my mouth.
"Um, Calum?" April questioned. "What was-"
"Nothing, nothing." I cut her off.
April started to laugh. "Okay then."
As we walked to the ice cream place, we talked about time travel and if it was possible.
"THE ICE CREAM PLACE IS VEIW!" April yelled.
"I'm right here." I said.
"I know but it makes it better if I yell." She said.
April slid of my back so she was standing next to me. I looked down at her and she looked up at me, pushing strands of her blue hair from her eyes. I then looked forward at the ice cream shop.
We walked up to the open window and I waited for the worker to approach the counter to take our order.
"Hi, how can I help you?" A lady asked.
"Can I have the brownie bite, thing?" I asked.
"Sure, and for you?" The lady asked looking down at April.
"I'll have the mint chocolate chip." April smiled.
"Okay, one moment." She said, sliding the window shut.
I pulled out my phone, looking at the time. It was 11:46. Then I looked down at April. She was so pretty. I smiled to myself and my eyes wandered to the ground.
"Here are your ice creams." The lady said with a smile.
"Thanks." April said.
I handed her $5, then we walked off.
"Wanna go back to my place?" April asked.
"Sure." I smiled.
It was a quiet and quick walk to her house. Our hands brushed against each other. I wanted to hold her hand so badly.
I reached over and gently took her hand. It took her by surprise but she just let it happen. Then I laced my fingers in with hers.
April looked up at me with a confused and shocked look. I gave her a cheeky smile and she giggled and looked forward again.
I was holding her hand! April swayed them back-and-forth. It felt weird holding her hand because she just saw us as friends.
We walked threw the yard and to her front door. April pulled out her key and unlocked the house, then pushed the door open.
"Welcome Caly." She smiled.
"Don't call me that." I chuckled.
"Awe but I thought it was cute." She said with a bit of sarcasm.
"Yeah, sure." I smirked.
April walked into the kitchen and I followed. She grabbed a water and went to open a cabinet, but then stopped. April turned to me.
"Let's go upstairs." She said.
"Okay." I smiled.
We went up to her room and I sat on the bed. April sat on her piano stool and looked at me.
"What should we do on our first day free from hell?" April asked.
"We should nap." I said bluntly.
"Wait what?" April asked taken back.
"Napping." I said again.
"W-why?" She laughed.
"Because naps, we just ate ice cream and now I could go for a nap." I shrugged.
"O-okay then." April said.
She stood up and walked over to her bed.
"Move over." She said.
I slid over to one side of her bed while she flopped onto the other. We both got comfortable. April leaned over and grabbed a blanket which found its way over both of us. She then looked up at me and smiled.
My heart was racing. She looked so pretty and amazing. I smiled back, then closed my eyes, and quickly fell asleep.
APRILS POINT OF VEIW
Calum fell asleep right next to me. He looked so at peace.
He held my hand earlier.
And it's weird but, I liked it.
But I don't have feelings for him... right?
I moved closer to him. His eyes opened and looked down at me, finding mine.
Not a word was said.
He reached out and pulled me in so our body's were touching. I buried my face in his chest and closed my eyes. Calum held me close.
But I can't have feelings for him.
We are just friends.
I can't have feelings for him, right?
