I woke up the next morning to my alarm ringing in my ear. My hand reached out beyond my bed to find my phone, and turn the annoying sound off. I wasn't paying attention and nocked my phone off the bed side table.
"Shit." I muttered, the alarm still blaring.
My hand searched the floor for my phone, in a desperate attempt to turn off the alarm.
Finally I found my phone. Magically I slid my finger over the screen, and the terrible noise stopped.
I flopped back into my pillow and looked out at the Saturday morning sky. I sighed, then rolled out of bed.
The smell of cookies filled my nose while I walked over to my closet.
I took some deep inhales of the amazing smell as I opened my closet.
"What to wear." I mumbled.
I grabbed a pair of black leggings and a white tank top that said Breaking Benjamin on it. I had to wear a sports bra because the tank had low cuts where the sleeves should be.
Then I walked into the bathroom and brushed my teeth, did my hair, and put some mascara on. Once I had finished I walked back into my room and grabbed a bag, and started to shove some clothes into it, then essentials. I then grabbed a blanket and my wolf stuffed animal. I tucked my phone into the waist of my leggings, grabbed my bag, then went downstairs.
"Morning April." My mum said.
"Hey mum, hey dad." I smiled.
"Morning monkey." My dad said. "What's the bag for?"
"I'm going over to Calum's, and spending the night." I said.
"Not dressed like that." My dad said.
"Oh, Danny she looks fine." My mum said.
"And we're just friends dad." I chimed in.
"A-alright, just don't do anything dumb, well, don't do anything extremely dumb." My dad said.
"I'll try." I laughed.
"Here, take some cookies with you." My mum said.
"Oh my gosh mum." I said as a grabbed the bag off goodies. "Bye, see you tomorrow."
I hurried out the door.
Once I reached the outside world, I looked up at the sky. It was blue and the sun was shining.
What time even is it?
I shrugged, not caring and continued across my yard. Then I crossed the street and walked up to Calum's door.
I knocked three times, then waited. After about a minute of two Calum finally came to the door, and I could tell he just woke up.
"Hello?" Calum asked.
I could tell because he was in his underwear, and had his eyes closed out of exhaustion, and he had the rasp in his voice that only occurs when he just wakes up.
"Uh, Calum." I said.
He opens his eyes, then looked down at me.
I gave him a look as if to say 'really'.
"April? April! Hey, hi, uh come in. Sorry if I knew it was you I wouldn't have taken that long." Calum said.
"That's okay." I said laughing a little. "I like you pants." I said sarcastically.
Calum looked down at his legs.
"Oh yeah." He said.
I laughed as I walked into his house. Calum closed the door behind me.
I headed towards the stair case, and up to his room. I stopped, and looked back at Calum. His eyes met mine. I gestured for him to lead the way to his room, although I knew where it was.
Calum looked down at himself.
"Y-you should go first." He said blushing.
I laughed, and started to walk up the steps.
I flopped back onto his bed , setting my stuff beside me. Calum walked over to his dresser and grabbed a pair of black jeans.
"So what do you want to do today?" Calum asked as he pulled on his pants.
"I don't care, whatever is fine." I said, then looked over at him.
"Okay, that's cool." He said, then started to look for a shirt.
I pulled myself off his bed and walked over to his closet. I grabbed a black and grey flannel.
With the shirt in my hand; I walked over to him, spinning him around. He was a bit confused. I handed him the shirt then fell back onto his bed. Calum pulled the shirt on, then fell back on the bed next to me.
I looked over at Cal just as he looked over at me. His mouth opened, as if he was going to say something, but his phone rang and interrupted him. He grabbed his phone from his dresser and answered the call.
"Hello?" He asked.
"Cool, we'll be there."
Calum hung up the phone and looked at me.
"Where will we be going?" I asked.
"Well, Luke wants to know if we can come over to hang out and go swimming, because Michael, Ashton, Katie, and Bex are there." Calum said.
"Uh, well, do you have like, a shirt I could wear to go swimming?" I asked.
"Why?" Calum asked.
After a second he realized that, that was a bad question to ask a girl.
"Uh, yeah, yeah." Calum said.
He rummaged through his closet, and grabbed a black muscle tank top.
"It's just, umm, I'm self conscious." I said.
"That's fine, although I don't know why." He said.
He handed me the shirt, and I set it in my lap.
"I'll go change in the bathroom." I said.
"Okay, I'll meet you downstairs." Calum said, as I left his room.
I walked down the hall and into the bathroom, locking the door behind me. While pulling out my bathing suit, I dropped a little bottle.
"Shit." I said.
I snatched the small bottle and shoved it back into my bag. I changed into my swim suit and looked into the full body mirror.
I didn't have on Calum tank on yet, I was just in my suit. My eyes scanned over my body a few hundred times. I snapped out of my frozen stance not wanting to look at myself anymore, and I whipped away a quick tear.
Then, I pulled on Calum's tank top, and my jean shorts, grabbed my bag, and left the bathroom. I jogged downstairs with my small bag with a few things that I would need. Calum was leaning against the wall, on his phone.
"Hey." I said, so he would know I was done.
"Hi, everything okay?" He asked.
"Uh, yeah, I just had to, pee." I said.
"Oh, okay. Ready?" Calum asked, holding his hand out to me.
I laughed. "Yeah."
I placed my hand in Calum's and did a little curtsy.
"TO THE BAT MOBILE!" Calum yelled.
I burst out laughing as he dragged me to his car. I got into the passengers seat and threw my bag onto the back seat as Calum got into the drivers seat. He put the key into the ignition and drove off to Luke's house.
I stared out the window while Calum drove. We pulled into Luke's drive way. I jumped out of the car, as did Calum, and we walked to the backyard.
I saw Bex, and Katie right away, and headed over to them. Bex, Katie, and I were the girls who listen to the rock music, and would die our hair and stuff. Right now I had grey blue hair, Bex had a nice red-ish thing going on, and Katie had white-ish blue hair.
Katie and Bex were in there bikinis sitting with there legs in the pool. I set my stuff on a lawn chair, and took off my jean shorts so I just had on my bikini bottoms and Calum's tank top over my bikini top.
"Hey guys." I said as I sat down buy the girls.
"Hi April." Bex smiled. "Uh can we talk to you?"
"Hm? Why?" I asked.
"We just, need to tell you something in private." Katie said smiling.
"Uh... Okay." I said.
The three of us stood up.
"Hey Luke we're gonna go get a drink." Katie called.
"Okay." Luke said.
We all walked inside and to the kitchen. While we walked, I pulled down on Calum's tank to make sure it was covering my sides. Once we got to the kitchen I opened the fridge and grabbed a water. Katie and Bex had sat down at the island.
"Don't you guys want something to drink?" I asked.
"No." Bex said. The two of them smiling devilishly.
"What?" I asked starting to laugh.
"You didn't see!?" Katie said, laughing a bit too.
"See what?" I asked.
"CALUM!" They both yelled.
"What about him?" I asked.
"When you were taking off your shorts, he was staring at you, practically drooling." Bex said.
"What?! No no." I said.
"Oh yeah. He likes you." Katie said.
"No he doesn't, we're just friends." I said.
"Okay, whatever you say." Bex said giving up.
The girls and I walked back out to the pool where the guys were.
"Wanna jump in?" Bex asked.
"Yeah!" Katie said.
"Okay." I said.
We all joined hands and ran towards the pool, and with one quick jump, we were in the pool.
"Ahh, it's freezing!" I said.
"I think it feels great." Ashton laughed.
"Shut up Ashton." I chuckled.
I rested in the corner of the pool, just watching the conversation. I looked over at April, who was still in my tank top while she swam. The black shirt stuck to her body as she struggled to swim on the deep end. The deep end was 5 feet and 7 inches deep, so she couldn't touch the bottom to stand up.
I made my way over to her.
"Hi Cal." She smiled.
"Hey." I said.
I placed my hands on her waist, and pulled her a little closer to me.
She tensed, more than I thought she would.
"Um, Calum what are you doing?" She asked, she hands shaking.
"Helping you to shallow water." I said.
"Oh, uh, t-thanks." She said.
Her hands met mine, and moved them up to her sides and way from her hip area. I didn't question, because I didn't want to make it awkward.
"There you go." I said, letting go of her sides.
"Thanks." She said.
Katie and Bex came over to her, and they all want over to there corner in the pool. I want back over to where the boys were.
That was a little strange. I have never seen her that nervous to my touch, and it's not like I was grabbing her and a rude place. I wonder, what's wrong, and is April okay?
