I never thought I'd fall for a person like him.

But look at me now.

After slipping on a pair of black leggings, I continued to search through my suitcase for something to wear for me and Calum's date.

"I can't believe you're going out with him," Spencer said, pulling on a hoodie.
"I was being nice Spence-"
"Being nice to a person who was a dick to you since the first time we met him, really?" She argued, giving me an "are you serious" look.
"Treat people the way you want to be treated," I said in reply, hoping that would lighten the mood.
"Then act like a bitch toward him." Spencer scoffed, "from the moment we met Calum, he's done nothing but act like an asshole towards you. Why even consider thinking about going on a date with in?"
"Because I want to Spencer!" I exclaimed, slipping a plain maroon shirt on over my sports bra, "why'd you decide to date Luke even though you barely knew him?"
"Because unlike Calum, Luke is actually a good person who doesn't look at a girl and only see a sex object." She said, "and despite the fact that you knew that, you still fell for his stupid ass tricks."

I froze for a moment and shifted uncomfortably, "I don't get what you mean by tricks."
I watched as she shook her head at me, "I thought you knew better than to go for someone like him. For fuck's sake, you were the one who warned me about Aj countless times but yet you're doing exactly what you warned me about-"
"I'm not like you Spence. I'm not going to be stupid. Just because you fell for some fuckboy who only wanted to fuck you, doesn't mean I'm going to fall for Calum," I spoke before I could stop myself.

She stared at me for a moment.
"Thanks Alex, means a lot," Spence mumbled out in a sarcastic tone, "good luck on your date." She said, angrily grabbing her phone off her bed. "I don't care what you meant. I'm going to go hang out with the boyfriend of mine who, unlike Calum, isn't in relationships for sex." She said, opening the door of our hotel room.

"Oh- look who's here." She spoke out, in a fake happy tone as she seen Calum outside. "You two have fun with your date," she gave us both a fake smile as he walked in, her walking out and basically slamming the door behind her.

"What was that about?" Calum asked as he stood by the door, holding something behind his back.
"We got into a fight... I said some things that I shouldn't have. So now, she's going to hang out with Luke and probably won't be coming back until tomorrow... or maybe not at all." I sighed, turning my straightener off as I turned to face Calum.
Calum mumbled out a small 'oh.'
I nodded.

"Well um.. I got you something that could possibly cheer you up," He murmured, moving his arm from behind his back.

In his hand was a single pink rose.

I murmured out a small "awe" as he handed me the rose, my cheeks most likely turning red.
I thanked him and gave him a smile.
He smiled back, blushing slightly.

I, of all people, made Calum Hood blush. In all honesty, I didn't think that was possible.

"Ready to go?" He asked, holding out his hand for me.

"So, tell me about yourself." Calum said as we sat across from each other eating ice cream.
"What do you want to know?" I questioned, taking a bite of my cookies and cream.
"Anything."
"Well, I'm seventeen, I'm from Billings, Montana. I live alone with my mom because dad walked out on us before I was born. Beside from Spencer, I have no other siblings. And by the time your tour ends, I'll be going into my senior year of high school." I shrugged, not sure of what I was supposed to talk about.

Calum smiled. "What?" I asked, smiling out of habit. He shrugged, "what about after high school?" "I don't know yet." I replied frowning, "it's taking me a while for me to figure out what I want to do with my life. It sucks because it feels like everyone around me knows what they want... and then there's me." "Hey, it's better that you figure things out instead of dropping out entirely like I did." "You dropped out of high school?" I asked him surprised. "Yep," he replied, "dropped out with Michael. Honestly the greatest decision I ever made, even if I meant I had to give up my career as a footballer."
"Footballer? You played football?" I asked, yet again surprised.

He didn't seem like the football jock type. Rocker, yes. Running backs, no.

"Not your type of football. Soccer actually." Calum clarified, "I was really good at it too. Actually got to go to Brazil for a while and train down there, but when I came back I told my parents I didn't want to play football anymore.
"God you should've seen how bummed out they were. They thought I was going places when it came to football. I'm pretty sure they thought the band was a lost cause-" he paused but I spoke out before he could add anything.
"They must be proud. Seeing that their son has created something so amazing with his life. I mean, come on you tour around the world with your best friends, playing shows in front of thousands of fans. That's greater than anything I'll ever do."
"Pssh, come on baby girl, you're one of the greatest artist I've ever met, if you were to get a drawing or painting of your put in a art museum, I wouldn't be surprised." He said in a serious tone.

Heat rose to my cheeks, "well if you ever sell out Madison Square Garden I won't be surprised, you and the whole band is talented. If you don't think you're going places now, you're bound to realize soon." I told him smiling to myself.
"Just think of how that'd be. Beautiful artist with a rockstar boyfriend." He chuckled, smiling as he bit his bottom lip.
"Boyfriend?"
"Well... one day. Hopefully," he grinned at me.

"Want to come in and watch a movie?" I asked as we stood outside the door of my hotel room.
Calum shook, his fingers still intertwined with mine, "if I walk inside, I won't want to leave your side."
"Oh, I see," I smiled, rolling my eyes playfully.
He chuckled and started leaning forward.

I leaned in as well. Our foreheads were resting on each other's, our lips almost touching.

"Oh my god is that Calum?" I heard some girl scream from the other side of the hall.
"Shit, go inside Alex." Calum mumbled out, giving me a small peck.
"What- why?" I asked confused.
"They're just.. they can be a little over the top sometimes." He replied, "I don't want them to do anything to you." He added, giving my forehead a kiss.

Turning my head to look at the girl who screamed, I noticed a whole crowd of girls. All smiling and holding their phone in their hands, taking pictures of Calum.

"Good luck," I chuckled, looking up at him, "there's a lot of them." I said, room key already in my hand.
He smiled, "I had a really good time tonight."
"So did I." I replied with a small smile.
"I'll call you later... possibly after I make out through all this," he chuckled, glancing over at the fans, who were getting closer and closer.
I smiled in reply, "talk to you later then." I said, turning to open the door.

I looked at Calum before I walked inside. He walked over to all the fans.
It was amazing how happy he made them. It's so strange that a person, who he wouldn't even know the name of would love him and care for him as much as his fans do. Then again, I guess that's just the life for some people.

Closing the door behind me, I expected to see Spence inside. Then I remembered everything from earlier.

"Hey, you still mad at me?" I texted her, not really expecting her to reply to me but hey, at least I'm trying.
I noticed that she just read the text but didn't reply. Of course.

After changing into some pajama shorts and a random t-shirt, I slid into bed with a sigh.

Why is it that I'm really screwing up recently? Especially not like this, Spence and I have been best friends since we met each other. It was so stupid of me to bring the thing that happened between her and Aj.

"I'm sorry Spence. I didn't mean it." I sent another text.

After getting into a random movie that was playing, I jumped in surprise when my phone buzzed beside my hand.
Seeing the name I gave Spencer in my contacts, I quickly opened the message.   "I don't care if you didn't mean what you said, it still hurt a lot Alex. I want to be alone, alright... just back off for a bit." I sighed sadly as I silently read the text.
Shaking my head at myself, I sent my phone back down on the bed.

I pray that everything turns out okay before the boys' tour begins, or else I'll be going home without my best friend and memories of four boys who seem to slowly changing my life.
