I was lost. Broken. My nightmares had finally come true, and I couldn't handle the weight on my heart. I wondered the scene of my crime aimlessly, allowing my grief to wash over me, and I was drowning in it. In an instant, I had lost my best friend, my girlfriend, and the only two ties I had to the normal world. The world were I wasn't a monster, a freak. A normal kid. But those ties were severed now.
I went to the only person who I could trust, my only friend besides the two that hated me now, the two that called me a monster.
The white wolf was in the same spot as the last time I saw him. I was almost like he had never moved. His eyes were closed. He didn't move or acknowledge my presence. I figured he was in deep though, and I sat down across from him. I was in wolf form. I sat by the fire burning next to the white wolf for a long time. Never did he open his eyes. It wasn't until I pressed my nose against his fur did I realize something was seriously wrong.
He was dead.
"Pleasure to see you again, ShadowBlaze." A voice hissed from the mouth of the cave. A huge black wolf slipped in through the cave mouth, along with 5 other huge wolves. The roughs from his pack.
"I can't say the same, Pitch." I snarled. The anger in my voice was blistering, and two of Pitch's cronies recoiled.
"Mudslide, Avalanche! You dare let a weakling like this scare you?!" Pitch turned to them, his lips crawling back to reveal his yellowed teeth. The two wolves cowered.
"Sorry sir, but I didn't sign up for this. You told me I could have a pack, a place to belong. Not some band of rogues who kill for fun." Said the bigger of the wolves. He was almost bigger than Pitch. They were within an inch of each other's heights. Pitch turned his glare on him, his eyes burning embers of hatred, but the wolf just stood higher. "I quit, man. This is messed up." He turned to leave, but Pitch nodded meaningfully at the others. Two grabbed him, including his buddy.
"I'm sorry man." He said, and he would not look up. Pitch turned back to me.
"Take him to the Pit," He growled to the others. They began to drag the other wolf away (Mudslide, I think his name is). Mudslide shrieked, and he began to flail. On of his captors bit into his scruff, the other pounding him over his head. He fell to the ground, and the one holding his scruff slammed Mudslide's head into the ground.
Mudslide did not move.
"Now you, ShadowBlaze, walker of two worlds... I have a special punishment for you. I'll start by taking this," He leaped forward, tearing the earring out of my ear. I wailed, backing away from him, but he just flung me to the ground. My head cracked against the wall of the cave, and my vision doubled. "Seize him." He said in a bored voice, and no matter how hard I fought, I had no choice but to be dragged along by Pitch's minions towards my doom.
