I get woken up by the lady next to me, tapping me lightly. I look over at her, seeming scared from my sudden wake.
"We're landing. They just told everyone to buckle." She gives me a small smile as she buckles. I smile back at her, buckling.
"Thank you." I grin. I pull out my phone to see it was 6:30 which meant it was actually 11:30 here which made me really upset. I got no sleep last night and I got roughly 7 hours of sleep out of 14 on this flight. The view is beautiful though from the plane before we land. It isn't a sunrise, but it's beautiful.
As I come out of the gate, I look up from the ground to see a sign and a happy group of people waiting for me. It was Dad, Alex, Calum, Ashton, Lane, and Kirk. Despite not wanting to come back home, the biggest smile forms on my face and I run to my dad as soon as I see him. I drop my bag closer to the group waiting for me and I run into his arms, clinging to him. He hugs me tightly, kissing the top of my head. I'm so short compared to him. I'm 5'0" and he's like 6'0". Alex got his tallness and I happened to get Casey's shortness. He makes me look at him and I smile.
"I'm so glad you're home." He smiles. I look over to see Alex, holding a sign that was for me when I got off the plane. As soon as I make eye contact with him, I rush over to him, hugging him so tightly I thought I was going to kill him. He hugs me back, slightly confused. Now, tears are starting to pour from my eyes and onto his shirt as I bury my face into his chest.
"Please don't scare me like that ever again." I mumble to him. He, I guess, realizes why I'm acting like this and he starts to break down, clinging to me. Good, give the paps what they didn't want as their excuse for a good story. I don't care though because I missed my brother's embrace and I could have never seen him again if he were successful in taking his life. Alex buries his face into the crevice between my neck and shoulder, holding me as close as possible.
"I'm s-sorry, Madi." He mumbles. I rub his back to try my best in easing him.
"Don't be. It's not your fault that people at school are assholes." I whisper to him, making him look at me. As I wipe his tears from his cheeks, I noticed he got his lip pierced. "Rebel. Getting your lip pierced." I laugh. He frowns at me.
"It's cool, shut up." He laughs, moving away from me, wiping his own tears.
"Are you ready to go home, Madi?" I hear Ashton ask. I nod, smiling.
I plop down on the couch, now home with only Dad, Alex, and Calum. I sigh, closing my eyes for only a second when I'm judged for 'sleeping'.
"You just got here and you're sleeping. Rude." Alex laughs, sitting next to me. I frown at him.
"I was just on a 14 and a half hour flight and you expect me to be wide awake? Okay." I scoff. He just laughs, elbowing me slightly.
"I'm messing with you." He laughs. I shake my head with a smile.
"So how are you and Jeremy? Last I heard, you guys were 'talking'." I laugh, putting air quotes around talking.
"Actually. We are good." He smiles. He was about to say something else until Dad walks into the living room. "Do you want to go up to my room and talk and catch up?" He asks.
"Yeah, sure." I smile. Dad looks at us with suspicion.
"What are you guys going to talk about that doesn't have to do with me?" He questions before we make our way upstairs.
"We're just talking about boys and stuff. It's okay, Dad." I say defensively. He cracks a smile, winking at us, letting us know he was just messing with us. We get upstairs and he closes his door. We both sit on his bed and he sighs.
"So," He sighs again, pausing for a second, seeming to collect his thoughts. "When I didn't come to school the day after I attempted, since I was in the hospital until noon the next day, Jer texted me, asking if I was alright. Just." He pauses, scrolling through his messages on his phone. "Read these."
Jer: Hey, are you alright?
Jer: What's wrong? What happened?
Alex: I was in the hospital all last night.
Jer: Please tell me it wasn't because of what I think it is. If it is, I swear to god, Alex. Just. Call me.
I hand him his phone back, confused on why that was a huge deal. "So I called him and he was practically freaking out. He was asking what the hell I did to myself and I was crying, unable to say anything. And since Dad was called into work, I had Jer come over." He pauses, laying back on his bed with a small smile on his face.
"Please tell me what happened didn't have to do with this bed and sheets and loud slapping noises." I say, about to get off this bed and sit on the floor. I was not about to sit in a bed that was fucked in. Which, technically, I sleep in one at the house that has probably been fucked in several times. I just didn't want to think about that right now.
"No, no, no." He laughs. "I'm still a virgin, Madi. And so is Jer."
"Thank god." I let out a breath, laughing.
"Anyways, he came over and as soon as he saw the mess I was, he hugged me so tight. He told me to never do it again. He told me that he cared about me a lot." He sighs, probably thinking back to it. "And then we kissed for the first time. And he confessed his feelings for me, telling me that he loves me."
"Well, do you love him back? I mean, you've known each other for what? A good year?" I ask, knowing they've known each other and have been friends for quite some time now. I just knew about it recently.
"Yeah. I do." He sits up, sighing and looking all sad.
"Well, did you tell him! Please tell me you told him!" I say, shaking him slightly. He smiles, breaking his poker face.
"Yes I told him!" He laughs.
"Sooo are you two a thing?" I ask, dragging out the sound of the 'o'. He nods and I start cheering. "Yay!! My baby brother has a boyfriend." I cheer and he laughs, attempting to push me off the bed.
"Stop!" He laughs, his face red from embarrassment. I shake my head laughing. "Now you tell me about you and that one girl. How are things going with you two." He asks.
"Well..." I trail off a little bit. I can't believe I'm going to tell him this short terrible story after he just told me his amazing one. As far as I know, Jess and I are nothing. We've just kissed. We haven't said anything about even dating. As soon as I open my mouth to say something else, the doorbell rings.
"Hold on, that's probably Jer. Dad and Cal have dinner plans and Jer said he would come over." Alex says, going downstairs to get the door. Of course, one more person that has to hear my problems that they don't care about.
