1. The Findings of Myrtle| Chapter 1

Why did Olive have to go find Myrtle? Just because she teased her, doesn't mean I have to find her. Olive knew where she would be, everyone should know, the first floor bathroom. She made her way downstairs to the bathroom striding along minding her own business, till she made the bathroom, "Are you in here again, sulking Myrtle," she said starting to open the door, "because Professor Dippet asked me to look for you-" she saw Myrtle's body and froze. Myrtle was dead.

'Oh, look at her shocked that I am dead,' Myrtle thought sitting on the windowsill. As a ghost.

Olive ran up the stairs to where Professor Dippet was, "Calm down, Olive, stop panting, have you found Myrtle?" he said putting his hand on her shoulder to make sure she was breathing properly, "Yeah, dead."

Those words froze the room, Professor Dippet was a in state of what to do and what not to do. "Olive, gather all the Professors and bring them to me in..umm where did you say she died?" he started to give instructions, but remembered he didn't know where Myrtle died, "the first floor girls bathroom," Olive said running off to get all the professors.

The Professors gathered around the dead girl's body, "I wonder if she committed suicide," Professor Merrythought said, "I don't think she is powerful enough to cast The Killing Curse on herself," Professor Slughorn said, "but she could of done some potion that could kill her instantly, she's brilliant at potions," he continued. "I don't think she had the heart to kill herself, it must have been killed by a Basilisk," Professor Dumbledore said silencing the room.

The staff put a white sheet over Myrtle and lifted her to take her away, Professor Dippet following not far behind. When they were taking her downstairs Professor Dippet noticed Tom Riddle, "What are doing up so late and wandering, my dear boy?" Professor Dippet said stretching his arm out as an invitation to come walk with him, "I have a question, sir," Tom said,

"What is it, my boy?"

"I was wondering if I could stay at Hogwarts over the summer again?"

"My dear boy, you must see how foolish it would be of me to allow you to remain at the castle when term ends. Particularly in light of the recent tragedy… the death of that poor little girl. You will be safer by far at your orphanage. As a matter of fact, the Ministry of Magic is even now talking about closing the school. We are no nearer locating the — er — source of all this unpleasantness…"

"Sir — if the person were caught — if it all stopped —"

"What do you mean? Riddle, do you mean you know something about these attacks?"

"No, sir."

After he said those words, Tom ran off to his dorm.

"Mrs. Warren and Mr. Warren this is a very dreadful loss to you and your family," Professor Dippet said to the sobbing Mrs. Warren and Mr. Warren. "The school will hold the funeral to tribute to her years at Hogwarts," he continued. He watched as both the parents nod in agreement. "Nice to meet both of you and sorry for your tragic loss," he snapped his fingers and desummoned them back home.

Professor Dippet sat back for a bit and thought, 'What if I get someone to find the person who murdered Myrtle?'
