I slowly made my way down the stairs, nervous taking over me. I carefully stepped down, taking my time and making sure I didn't trip over my dress or heels.
I felt my hands get clammy when I heard loud voices from the front door. One of the voices was a familiar one, my mother's, and the other one was a deep British voice.
The sound of his voice made me almost get a heart attack.
I stepped down on the last step of the stairs, my eyes finally landing on the one and only boy.
My idol, my king, my baby, my everything was standing in the front door. I just couldn't believe it. I felt like having a heart attack, I didn't know how to react so I just froze on the spot.
"You're such a handsome young man!" I heard my mom tell him, his beautiful laughter filling my ears.
"Thank you ma'am." He replied, smiling politely.
I wanted to cry. I stared at him, not knowing what to do.
I almost fell on the floor when he looked behind my mom, his eyes meeting mine. I gasped, my eyes widening.
My mom turned around, smiling when she saw me. "There she is!" I gulped, looking back at Zayn.
He smiled at me, "Hello Fayza!" His voice sent chills down my spine, my name rolling out of his tongue perfectly.
"Honey?" My mom looked at me in concern when I just stood there in shock, frozen in place.
I mentally slapped myself, telling myself to snap out of it.
"Zayn," I grinned at him, walking up to him and without thinking, I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him tightly. A small laugh escaped his lips and he wrapped his arms around my waist, hugging me back.
I was hugging my angel.
It took every single amount of strength I had in my body not to cry. I couldn't cry, no, not in front of Zayn. I will save it for later tonight.
I heard my mom 'aw' in the background.
After pulling away from the hug, I stared up at him while grinning like a moron. I giggled, not believing that this was real.
"Thank you so much for coming, Zayn."
"No problem." He smiled. "Happy birthday!"
"Thank you." My eyes never left him. "Come inside!" I tell him, stepping aside so he can walk in. I shut the door behind him.
"Zayn, you have no idea how much Fayza loves you." My mom tells him.
Zayn smiles and looks down at me. "Oh yeah?"
"Yes!" My mom nods her head. "She cried so hard when—"
"Mom!" I interrupt her, heat rising in my cheeks immediately.
Zayn just laughed and brought his hand to rest on my bare back due to the cut out from my dress, his thumb tracing circles. The touch of his hand on my skin made goosebumps rise all over my body, making me blush even harder.
"Don't be nervous love." He said quietly to me. I looked up at him and gave him a nervous smile, not knowing what to say.
This perfect man was standing in front of me. The man who I have dreamed for years to meet. He was in front of me.
"Let's take pictures!" My mom announces, her phone out in her hands and ready to snap a picture. I'm pretty sure my mother already recorded the whole thing.
Zayn's arm snaked around my waist, pulling me closer to his side as we both posed for pictures, my mother snapping as much as pictures as she can.
"Oh, wait!" Zayn exclaimed as he pulled his arm away from my waist. "Follow me, I forgot to give you something."
Confused, we walked out of the front door with my mother following behind. I gasped once we were outside, my eyes eyeing the limousine that was parked in front of our house.
"Zayn, is that ours?!" My eyes were wide. I had never been in one before.
"Yup, I got it just for you!" He smiled at me before opening the door to the limo. He grabbed something from inside and turned back around to face me. "These are for you." He handed me a bouquet of flowers.
A huge smile took over my face as I grabbed the flowers from his hand. "Zayn, you didn't have to!"
"But I did!" He smiled.
"Thank you so much."
This was honestly going to be the best night of my life.
"Pose!" My mom says.
Zayn and I pose again but this time behind the limousine and with the flowers in my hands. She took a bunch of pictures, and I made a mental note to myself to send all the pictures on her phone to my phone.
After taking pictures and my mom gushing over Zayn, it was finally time to leave.
"Have fun!" My mother waved at us.
"Thank you ma'am!" Zayn replied to her, giving her a polite smile.
He was so perfect. He's so husband material and I just wanted to—
My thoughts were interrupted when the driver of the limousine opened the door for us. Zayn let me go in first before he climbed in after me, the driver then shutting the door.
"I can't believe you got a limousine." I smiled, looking around as the driver started up the limo.
"Well believe it love. It's all for you, happy birthday." He says, looking straight at me. I couldn't hold eye contact without wanting to faint, so I looked down at the floor.
"Thank you." I mumble, my cheeks heating up a red color. Love. Fuck me daddy. Oh God I—
"Don't be shy love."
I look up at him. I couldn't stop smiling, my cheeks were going to hurt like shit by the end of the night.
"You have no idea how much this means to me. Thank you so much." I didn't know how to thank him, I was so happy and appreciative.
"No need to thank me, Fayza." He answers. "You're turning 19?"
I nodded my head, "Yes I'am."
He smiled before asking, "want anything to drink?"
"Water is good." I say as he opens the little mini fridge inside the limo. He pulls out a cold water bottle and handed it to me. I mumble a thank you before taking a sip.
"You look amazing tonight, by the way." Zayn compliments.
I blush. "Thank you," I eye the tux he was wearing. "You don't look too bad yourself." He looked absolutely handsome.
"Fayza, if you keep on blushing your face is going to stay red forever." He says, a look of amusement on his face.
"I can't help it!" I cover my face in embarrassment as I heard him slightly laughing.
I remove my hands from my face and stare at him like a complete idiot, getting lost in his beauty and the huge grin on my face making me look like a fool.
"What?" He asks.
I shake my head. "It's just, I can't believe it. I didn't even think you would follow me on Twitter, now look."
"Believe it because it's happening right in front of your eyes."
I smile before looking out the window. The sun was setting, making the sky a perfect pinkish and orangish color.
"I'm going to miss San Fransisco." I say, not removing my eyes from the window.
"Why?" He questions.
I turn to look at him. "After prom, graduation will be a few days later. Then summer is going to start and once that is over, I'm going to San Jose for college."
"See, I kind of wish I got that experience, you know?" I nod my head. "I love being famous and stuff, but sometimes I wonder what life would be like if I wasn't famous. How life would be like if I left for college. You're getting that experience, so take advantage of it."
"I know what you mean." I said.
"What are you doing over the summer? It's going to be your only freedom before college starts."
I smile at the thought of what I'm doing. "I'm visiting my two best friends that I haven't seen in the longest time. It's going to be the best summer ever, I can already feel it."
"That's good!" He smiled. "Wanna play 21 questions, to get to know each other better?"
"Yeah! You go first."
"Alright, full name!"
"Fayza Amal Zaman." I answer. "Your biggest fear?"
"Being stuck in a small space. Your most embarrassing moment?"
"Throwing up on my crush—"
He starts laughing. "Did that actually happen?"
"Yes!" I exclaim. "It was so embarrassing, he hated me after that!"
"Wow, that must suck." He shakes his head.
And from there, we asked each other random questions and I couldn't believe that I got to meet Zayn. He's such a fun and amazing person to be around, it's a dream come true.
The excitement took over me once the limousine came to a stop.
"We're here." Zayn smiled. "You ready to have fun?"
I nodded, "Hell yes."
The driver opened the door for us and Zayn was the first to get out. He stuck his hand out for me to reach it and I grabbed it as he helped me out of the limo.
"Thank you." I tell the driver before Zayn and I walked away.
My arm was linked with Zayn's as we started to follow the crowd of people inside the school.
"Where's it being held at?" He asks.
"Inside the gym, I think."
As we walked, the students around us whispered and stared at us. I felt uncomfortable as I tried to ignore it, staring down at the floor.
"Shit, I knew this would happen." I heard Zayn mumble. "Ignore them."
"Zayn!" We heard a girl scream, running up to Zayn. "Oh my god can I get a picture?!"
I recognized the girl, she use to be in my math class.
Zayn gave me a sympathetic look before letting go of our linked arms and leaning in to take a picture with the girl. The girl's friend ran up to him also, freaking out. And before we knew it, there was a small crowd of students trying to take a picture with Zayn.
I awkwardly stood in the corner, waiting for everyone to settle down. I sadly looked down at my feet, wanting to just go inside and enjoy my night with Zayn.
He's a celebrity, I should've known this would happen.
A few security guards that the school had hired specifically for prom night walked up to the crowd around Zayn. They tried settling everyone down and once everyone finally calmed down, Zayn walked up to me.
"I'am so sorry."
I shake my head. "It's fine, don't worry about it. Let's just go inside."
We start to walk inside the school again, luckily not being stopped by anyone this time. We made it inside the gym, the loud music making me smile.
I immediately spotted Alicia. "Come on!" I grab Zayn's wrist and I start to bring him towards Alicia and her date who were currently dancing like a couple of idiots.
"Alicia!" I yell through the music.
"Fayza!" She greeted me, her eyes averting to Zayn.
"Zayn, this is my friend Alicia and her date Kyle!" I introduce them. The music almost made it hard to hear what anyone was saying.
"Nice to meet you!" Zayn said.
We all made small talk but since we could barely hear each other, we started dancing instead.
I danced to some loud pop music that was playing and looked over to Zayn who was standing there and watching me in amusement.
"Dance!" I tell him and he laughs, joining me.
"I love this song." He smiled.
As I was dancing I felt myself trip over something, most likely my long dress, and I almost fell face first until Zayn grabbed my waist.
"Woah, be careful." He helped me stand back up properly.
"I do not go well with heels and dresses." I laugh in embarrassment. "I'm gonna go get something to drink, you want anything?"
"I wanna come with you." He says. I nod and start to walk where the huge table of snacks and drinks were, Zayn following behind me.
"That's a lot of food." Zayn comments as he stares down at the table. The table was placed a little further near the back, making it easier to hear through the music.
"I know." I replied as I grabbed a cup and poured some drink into it.
Hearing whispering, I glanced up to see two girls staring at Zayn and I, pointing and saying something to each other. I rolled my eyes and tried to ignore it but I couldn't when I could've heard what they were saying.
"What the fuck, how did she get him to go to prom with her?"
"She must've payed him?"
"Why would he agree to go with her ugly ass?"
"She had no date, so she must've payed him and to get attention."
I put my cup down on the table and glared at them. Zayn must've noticed since he placed his hand on my back.
"Fayza, you alright?" He whispered.
I felt tears brim in the corner of my eyes. I clutched my hands up into fists, trying to calm myself. I was not going to let them get to me, I was not going to let them make me cry. They're not going to ruin my night.
"Excuse me." I said, turning around to walk to the bathroom.
"No." Zayn says, grabbing my wrist. "You're not going to cry over them."
"I wasn't going to cry!" I protest, blinking away the tears.
"Fayza, I can see your tears." He states as I wiped away a tear from the corner of my eye. "They're just jealous, come on." His hand still on my wrist, he pulled me towards the two girls. "Um excuse me?"
"Hey!" The girls giggled, completely ignoring me and focusing their attention on Zayn.
"I heard everything you said and that was not nice, I do not appreciate you talking about my amazing fans like that. She's a loyal fan who I agreed to go to prom with because I wanted to. Now if you could let us enjoy our night without talking shit, thank you very much." He pulled me away from them and instead took me to the dance floor.
"Thank you Zayn." I smile at him.
I looked back to see those girls standing in shock, their mouths wide open and not believing that Zayn had just said that to them. I smirked.
For the rest of the night we danced, talked, laughed, took many pictures, and had the most amazing night that I would remember forever.
And just like that, prom was over. Zayn and I were currently back inside the limousine, my head resting against the window.
"That was fun." Zayn commented and I nodded in agreement.
"Are you dropping me back off at my house?"
"Well actually I was hoping that maybe you could change into some comfortable clothes and we can go out and watch a movie or something." He says. "Just because prom is over doesn't mean the night has to be over."
I smiled. "Yeah, sounds like a plan."
"Remember when your friend fell." Zayn said, laughing a little.
"Oh yeah!" I remembered, laughing with him.
Alicia and her date were dancing like total idiots, and she tripped over her heels and fell on top of some random guy. The guy's drink somehow spilled on her too, it was hilarious.
I sighed once I stopped laughing, staring up at Zayn with a smile on my face. It was unbelievable.
"What?" He asks, smiling back at me.
I shake my head. "I cannot thank you enough."
"Don't." He smiled. "Your welcome."
"I feel like I'm going to wake up tomorrow and it's all a dream." I tell him.
"Maybe it is a dream." He smirked. "What if it was a dream?"
"That would be the best dream ever but I'd probably jump out my window."
"That happened to me one time." He laughed at the thought. "When I was younger I had a dream that I got to go out with this girl that I had a massive crush on. I woke up and found out it was just a dream, but it felt so real. I was so disappointed."
"That must suck." I said. "You should've asked that girl out though."
"I did," he nodded. "After that dream I thought it meant something so I went and asked her out. I got rejected though."
"Something must've been wrong with her then." I state, making him chuckle.
The limo came to a stop and I looked out the window, seeing we were in front of my house.
"I brought comfortable clothes." Zayn says, grabbing a bag—it possibly had his clothes in—that was sitting on one of the seats. "Do you mind if I change out of this tux?"
"Yeah, go ahead."
The driver opened the limousine door and we both got out. We walked up the steps to my house and I bent down to grab the house keys my parents kept under the welcome mat. Unlocking the door, we walked inside the pitch black house.
"What time is it?" I whispered, trying not to wake up my parents.
"1am." He replied quietly after he checked the time on his phone, the bag that contained his comfortable clothes in his hands.
"Oh, follow me." I say before I started to walk up the stairs with him following behind. Once we were upstairs, I lead him to one of the bathrooms. "You can change here." He nods and mumbles a 'thank you' before walking inside.
I walked inside my room which was a door away to the bathroom Zayn was in. I immediately kicked off my heels and looked through my closet to find something comfortable to wear.
Zayn and I were going out to the movies, holy fucking shit.
I decided to wear leggings and a sweater since it was chilly out. I carefully took off my prom dress, not wanting to ruin it, and slipped on the clothes I picked out. I also put on a pair of white converse and walked out of my room.
Just as I left my room, the door to the bathroom opened and Zayn walked out wearing black sweats and a t-shirt that advertised some artist or band.
Damn, he looked hot.
His tux that he had on before was in the bag that he brought earlier.
"Ready?" He asks.
I nod, "yeah let's go."
We quietly jog down the stairs and back into the limo. He gives the driver the address before turning his attention back to me.
"What movie are we watching?" I ask him.
He smirks. "You'll see."
We made small talk, getting to know each other even more before we arrived at the movie theater.
"That's weird." I comment as we got out of the limo and made our way inside. The theater was almost completely empty, no one was here except a few workers.
"What?" Zayn questions while he lead the way with me walking beside him.
"I thought the theater was closed at this time. Plus, like no ones here."
He turns his head to me and made a cute little smile that almost had me pinching his cheeks. "I rented it out."
My eyes widen. "Are you serious?!" He nods. "That must've costed a fortune! Zayn, you really didn't have to."
"Nah, it's not a problem. Don't worry about it." He says casually as if renting out a whole movie theater was free. That must've had costed a shit ton. "I planned it all out after I landed. We were gonna go to prom which we did, then I would take you out to the movies for your birthday. It's nothing really."
"You're the best." I tell him honestly. "The best fucking idol in this whole damn world. Fucking talented and the most sweetest, amazing person ever."
He grinned, "thanks Fay."
I almost peed myself at the nickname. Fay.
"And you're the most amazing fan ever." He adds. "Now come on."
"What about our tickets?" I question.
"We're the only two people watching a movie here, I already took care of that." He replied. "Want any snacks?"
"Yeah, that would be great."
We walked over the little place to buy snacks. We ordered popcorn, drinks, and candy. The lady told us the total amount of price to pay and I quickly pulled out my wallet, wanting to pay.
Just as I pulled out some cash I looked up to see Zayn handing the lady his credit card. I stood there, glaring at him.
"What?" He asks innocently, finally noticing the I glare I was giving him.
"I wanted to pay!" I exclaim.
"Oops!" Zayn chuckled, "too late."
"Zayn! It's the least I could've done." I sighed.
"Don't worry about it!" He says as the lady handed him back his credit card.
I frown and gather the bucket of popcorn and my drink in my hands as he picks up his snacks. We walk inside the theater and decide to sit in the middle of the row of seats.
"I've never seen this movie." Zayn says as he puts popcorn into his mouth. "I hope it's good."
"That wasn't bad." I said while we were currently inside the limo.
"No, it was actually a pretty good movie. I liked it."
We had just finished the movie and were on my way to drop me off back to my house. It was the sad part of the night, well at least sad for me. The night was coming to an end even though I wish it didn't, I had an amazing time with Zayn and I wish it could be like this everyday. I just wish we were close friends, I wish I could text him and ask him to hang out whenever we were free.
That would never happen though.
Zayn and I talked until the limousine was in front of my house. The thought of not seeing Zayn anymore right when I step inside my house saddened me. He was going to go back to his own life and probably forget about me after a few days while me, on the other hand would remember this day for the rest of my life.
I shook away the sad thoughts and focused on Zayn who was in front of me.
"I'll walk you to your door." Zayn says as the driver opened the limo door.
Zayn stepped out first and put his hand out in front of me. I grabbed it and he helped me out.
"Thank you." I told the limousine driver before looking back at Zayn.
"I had fun." Zayn said as we walked up to my front door. Once we were in front of it, we turned around to face each other.
I stared up at him for a few moments, taking in his beautiful features. I couldn't believe I was staring at him in real life instead of behind a computer screen. Without thinking, I wrapped my arms around him and buried my head into his chest. It took him by surprise since he stumbled backwards slightly, but he regained his balance and wrapped his arms around me.
"Thank you so much Zayn." I said into his shirt, hugging him tighter. "You have no idea how thankful I'am for this, for you."
"Don't worry about." I heard him say as he rubbed my back.
"I can't," I mumbled. "I can never thank you enough." I was hugging him tightly, not wanting to let go. My idol was in arms and I never wanted to let go.
Suddenly, my lips started to quiver and tears brim my eyes. I felt tears slowly roll down my cheeks and a sob escape my mouth.
"Fayza?" I heard Zayn ask. "Are you crying?" I nodded into his chest but didn't pull away. I didn't want him to see me cry, I didn't want to be those fans who just cry in front of him.
He pulled away from the hug and looked at me. "Why are you crying?"
"Zayn, you don't understand how much you mean to me. Your music helps me through every single bull shit in my life and I love you so damn much. I always knew that if I ever met you I would cry or freak out, or something. When I first saw you today earlier at my door, I did everything not to freak out and cry. But now I'm crying because my dream came true and I got to hang out with you today. You're my idol Zayn, you're my inspiration and I could never thank you enough." I sniffed, wiping away my tears with the sleeve of my sweater.
A beautiful smile took over his face. "Fayza,"
Another tear rolled my face and he pulled me in for another hug. We hugged for a few moments and after I calmed down, he pulled away to face me again.
"Thank you Fayza."
"Why are you thanking me?" I ask, furrowing my eyebrows in confusion.
"For supporting me."
I smiled and stood on my toes, reaching up to kiss him on the cheek.
Oh my God I just kissed Zayn on the cheek. I cannot believe I just did that.
I tried not to freak out.
"You're an adorable little fan, you know that right?" He chuckled and a blush rose to my face. "When I go on tour you better come."
"Trust me, I will." I laughed. "I'll probably jump on stage while you're singing and scream, 'DO YOU REMEMBER ME ZAYN!'"
He chuckled. "You better do that, I'll be waiting for that." I smiled before a yawn escaped my mouth. "Tired?" He asks.
I shake my head. "No, let's go on an adventure!"
He laughed. "I wish! I have to go back to my hotel since I'm waking up early tomorrow to get on a plane to Los Angeles."
I frown, "take me with you! Sneak me on the plane and don't tell my parents."
"Yeah, let's go!" He joked.
I smile sadly. "Well you better go, you don't wanna be tired tomorrow morning."
"When am I not tired?"
"Same," I lightly laughed.
"Goodbye Fayza." He looks down at me.
"Bye Zayn," I wrap my arms around his neck and hug him one last time. "I'm going to miss you."
"Hey, you'll see me on tour. Right? Get meet and greet tickets too."
"Yeah," We pull away from our hug.
"Fay," he smiled. "Best fan ever!"
I grinned, "love you Zayn."
He started to slowly walk back towards the limousine, looking back at me. "Dm me!"
"I'll spam you until your busy ass replies!" I joked, knowing that this is going to be our last time talking.
Zayn just smiled at me and blew me a kiss, making me want to melt onto the floor and cry. He sat inside the limo and the driver started to drive away. He waved at me and I waved back, watching the limousine disappear from my sight.
I walked inside my house and closed the front door. I leaned against the door and slid down on the floor, a loud sob escaping my mouth.
I was crying again because I was so damn happy.
I pulled out my phone and sent a DM to Zayn.
Fayza: thank you ily :)))
This was the best night of my whole entire life.
