I woke up at seven, I sit up on my bed.
This has just happened. That's what I said.
I turn on the radio, to 104.1.
Last night was true, we had won.
My mind goes to last night, oh god that was great.
Me and my parents in the same place.
I was in my pjs, but nothing can be worse
Since I was dawning a wine and gold NBA finals shirt.
But before that I was in my basement, pacing back and forth.
We were down by 7, in the quarter of the fourth.
I checked Facebook one more time to check the event:
We were tied with Golden State. Oh god this is intense.
I run upstairs, a cup of milk in my hand.
We are so close to a championship for the land.
We all held our breaths when Kyrie shot that three.
I was shaking, my heart pounding, oh god the glee.
LeBron was fouled, I thought he was done.
There's only ten seconds before it can be won!
When he missed the first free throw, I felt like something died.
But when he made the second. I almost cried.
Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one...
Zero. It's over. It's done.
We yelled at the top of our lungs
The tears flowing, the songs being sung.
I ran outside barefoot, what did I hear?
The sounds of fireworks, the distance-sounding cheers.
I went back inside, I watched tv a little more.
A wide smile on my face, a sight a Cleveland sports fan now adores.
Today I went to take my flute to shop.
I also made a quick Starbucks stop.
But today there something on my mind, just one, that's all.
The Cleveland Drought is over, for the Cleveland Cavaliers have won it all.
