25. Feeling Strange
It was time for lunch, so I headed down to the cafeteria. Meg was there before me surprisingly, so I hopped in line right behind her. I grabbed my tray like usual, made small chat with Meg, and got my food. Today was popcorn shrimp with mashed potatoes for a side. Those two things don’t go together in my mind. Then the salad bar like usual.
I grabbed my shrimp, which was more like freezer burnt fish sticks, and my lumpy mashed potatoes. This time, I grabbed baby carrots and strawberries from the salad bar. Just to change it up a little bit.
I sat down at the table, but it felt different. It felt, strange. I didn’t know why it felt that way, but it did, and I couldn’t ignore it. I looked around the cafeteria, but I couldn’t find Ryder. Maybe he was just running a little behind. I didn’t panic, I just started on my so called popcorn shrimp.
