It was lunch, and before I even got my food, I headed over to the track sign up sheet and put my name on the list. Not in pink ink. Then I got in line and got my food. Today's lunch was a hamburger with potato wedges and the open salad bar. I chose baby carrots and grapes which were my usual.
I sat down at out usual table to eat. Since Trish and Chloe always bring their lunches, I was the third one there, shortly followed by Meg. There were two empty seats. It felt strange, but not too strange. In some ways, it felt okay. The only thing was, that left two spots open, and guess who took one. Britany Galnow. She sat right down next to Meg. I felt bad for Meg because Britany chews with her mouth open. It's pretty loud too.
We just talked about random stuff and ate. I was almost done with my lunch when I felt a tap on my shoulder.
I turned around. Ryder was standing right there.
"Hey Ryder." I said casually.
"Have you signed up for track yet?" He seemed nervous for some reason.
"Yep! Right below the pink ink." I giggled and he followed.
"I guess I'll see you in calculus?" Ryder said in the form of a question.
"See ya." I said in short.
I felt weird after talking to him. I'm not sure why though. All I've ever wanted is for Ryder to talk to me and like me. Now that that's happening, I feel like it shouldn't be. Ryder is too good for me, too out of my league. It's all so sudden too. One minute, I'm keeping a major crush secret, the next minute I figure out that my secret crush has liked me for a while and I never knew it.
"Ewwww!" Meg, Trish, and Chloe said synchronized.
"Shut up." I said half joking.
