He Said Bye

Bridgett Herman has a serious heart ache for a guy names Ryder Paisley. She's not sure he will ever like her though. She may even ruin some friendships while trying to create a relationship with Ryder. Will Bridgett, or called by her friends, Bri, ever be able to maintain relationships with friends and Ryder?

8. Don't Go

At the end of class, it's seventh period study hall. On our way out the door, Meg tapped my shoulder.

"Hey, do you mind switching seats tomorrow?" She asked with a slight grin.

What was I supposed to do? I can't tell her no, that would mean I'd have to tell her about my secret Ryder crush. I also don't want to say yes, because then I lose my spot by Ryder. I just can't win here.

"Sure." I'm such a push over.

"Thanks Bri! You're the best!" Meg said heading off.

Meg, Trish and I each went in separate directions to go to our lockers. I grabbed all my homework, which really was only Journalism, FBLA (future business leaders of America), and the rest of my Advanced Calculus worksheet.

I then proceeded to study hall. I was the first one there out of the six of us. I sat down at the only round table left. Most of the tables are squares and only have four chairs, but there are three round tables that have six.

Shortly after, Jade and Lea came and sat down by me. Then Chloe. Then finally, with only about thirty seconds to spare, Meg and Trish came in. I was surprised Jade and Lea got here so quickly, since their advanced History class is all the way at the other end of the school.

We are all in some sort of advanced class/classes.

Meg- Advanced calculus, elite piano, and reading 4.5

Trish- Advanced calculus, honor band, reading 4.5, and FBLA

Jade- Advanced history, and Geography 4.25

Lea- Advanced history, and outdoors ed

Chloe- English 4.5

And for me...

Bridgett- Advanced calculus, reading 4.5, FBLA, and science 4.5

We all knew the drill. We pulled out our homework before even saying a word to each other. Study hall is an hour, and we usually were done with about fifteen minutes to spare.

Chloe was done first, because she only had English 4.5 homework. Then Lea was done, she had half of her advanced history worksheet left, and an English worksheet. Jade was done with her advanced history and half and English worksheet shortly after. Then Meg and Trish finished within seconds of each other. I finished only a minute after with my advanced calculus, and science 4.5 homework. Like usual, we had about fifteen minutes left.

We automatically started talking as if on cue. We'd done this so often, it was like clockwork. Our first topic was pretty boring. It was just about homework. Questions like "What did you get for number nine?" or "Are you sure the answer is 157.23?" were basically all we talked about for five minutes.

Then an interesting topic came up out of nowhere!

"What would you guys think if I moved to Germany?" Jade asked suddenly.

We all sort of laughed thinking she was joking. Jade kept a straight face.

"You're not serious are you?" Lea asked. Lea and Jade were probably the closest.

"I don't know, I mean, I miss Caden." Jade replied with a sad tone.

"Still?" Meg asked curiously.

Jade nodded her head. "He sent me his address over Snapchat last night."

"Don't go! Please! I'd miss you too much!" Lea pleaded.

The rest of us were just kind of stunned. We let Lea do the pleading.

"Okay." Jade replied on the verge of tiny tears.

The rest of the time was just silent. Pure silence.
