I Never Was

Darker night than usual, more silent as well. A normal day can quickly turn into an unusual night. Wendy, a nineteen year old introvert, realizes that everything seems different, and feels different right when she opens her bedroom door.

Subject: I love your name!

Your name sounds delicate and fancy. I wish I had a neat name like that. What did you do today? See or do anything interesting? I did something very fun today, an outing with my family. We all went to a theme park and then a movie in one day! I hope you had as much fun as I did. I want you to know that you can trust me, even though I'm online. I care about ya.

I glanced at this creepy monstrous tall being standing in my doorway when I read the sentence "See or do anything interest?" Yeah, I see something odd and interesting right now and its something that people wouldn't believe anyway. I began to wonder about my family, I worried that "it" killed them. Jax hasn't been meowing at all, or scratching on the side of the hallway wall. I started to become worried about Jax as well. This demon looking figure suddenly turned his head very fast, facing me. I was at my computer desk and I think I jumped faster than he turned his head. My computer mouse flew across the room, over by his feet. There was NO way I was going to go near him. Hell no. A creepy grin formed across his face after I jumped. His face was stuck that way, grinning like a jack-o-lantern. I wanted to tell Elanor about this scary being, more than anything. But I can't send an email now. Not without the mouse.

"What are you smiling at?" I asked "it". His scary face lost its grin, then became normal again. "You don't talk, huh?" I stopped talking when I realized this thing was beginning to walk for the first time. Walked right into my room. It was hard for me to breathe, and I got a horrible head ache. This happens if I'm too stressed or scared to death, or if my anxiety gets to be too much. He got close to me, but stopped, lifted up his huge hand. It was lighter and I could see him much better than I did in the dark. I never knew how sharp his fingernails looked. Then again, they looked more like claws, not fingernails. I thought he was going to slash my throat, or kill me. This is it. I'm going to die, I thought to myself. Instead, he took his long claws and began carving something into the wall beside my head. It took a while, but I was too scared to turn my back on him. After he was done and the carving stopped, I turned to look at what was on my wall. "E-X-P-E-R-I-M-E-N-T". The word written into my bedroom was a clue. He can't talk, but he CAN spell and he understands communication. "Experiment..?" I asked him. I couldn't believe I was talking to this monster like he was another human. He made the same creepy grin as before, only bigger this time.
