The plane finally landed and I stepped outside... only to freeze.
"Shit it's cold out here!" I yelled, wrapping my arms around myself.
"This wouldn't have happened if you listened to me when I told you to change," Erwin said, wrapping a jacket around me. He brought an extra jacket?!
I groaned and adjusted it while following him to the car. "Where are we staying?"
"In an apartment," he replied, getting in the drivers seat. Gee thanks for opening the door for me!
I got in the passengers seat and crossed my arms. I don't know what an apartment is but it better not be nasty and it better be close to the school I will go to.
Erwin wasn't talking to me right now and it made me annoyed. There was no sound whatsoever. At least turn the radio on! I reached over to turn it on and furrowed my eyebrows.
"This isn't music," I said. Music was calm and soothing with no talking, at least in the castle it was.
"Yes it is. Music outside the castle is this," Erwin replied, gripping the steering wheel tighter.
I leaned back and shut my eyes, listening to the words.
As far as I can see, I just need privacy
Plus a whole lot of tree, fuck this modesty
I just need space to do me
Give the world what they're tryna see
"Huh?!" I asked, opening my eyes. "These words don't make sense."
"Yeah but the song is catchy," Erwin shrugged. I shook my head and changed it.
After changing the channel a million times, I gave up and turned it off. I hated the silence though so I ended up turning it back on the first song we listened to.
"We're here," Erwin said and pulled into a parking spot. I looked at the place I was now staying at. It's huge! It's like a miniature castle.
Erwin led me up some stairs and to a door. "Why this door instead of the ones downstairs?" I ask.
"Because this is our apartment, not those," he said and opened the door. I walked inside and cringed. The living room was tiny and only had a couch, coffee table, and TV in it. "Let me show you your room."
I followed him to my room and my jaw dropped. "No way this is it," I said. The room was smaller than the living room and smaller than any bathroom or closet back at the castle.
"Yes. Be lucky because this room is bigger than most rooms around here," Erwin said.
He went to leave but I stopped him. "Wait a minute. Why is my room so small when this place is huge?" I asked.
"Many people live here Rivaille. Apartments are just a bunch of homes smashed together. My apartment is next to yours okay?" he said then left.
I let out a frustrated groan as I laid down on the bed. No way am I going to visit him in his apartment. I at least want a bigger home and some color into it, not just black and white.
I wonder when I am starting school as well. Maybe school will brighten up my day. It seems cool.
There was a knock at the front door. I rolled my eyes. Erwin could just walk in if he wanted to. I got up and answered the door. "Erwin you can just wa- you're not Erwin," I say.
A boy taller than me with brunette hair chuckled and shook his head. "No. I'm Eren and I live next door. I couldn't help but notice you moving in. It's been a while since I had someone live next to me so I just wanted to say hello," he said. He had a thick German accent.
"Oh cool. I'm Rivaille," I reply, crossing my arms.
"Hi Rivaille. Do you need help with unpacking anything? I don't mind helping," he offered.
"No I don't take help from strangers. My butler can help me," I replied.
"Butler? What are you? A millionaire?" he asked, chuckling.
My eyes widened as I realized I said that. "Butler? I didn't say butler. I said brother," I covered up. He chuckled and rolled his eyes.
"Oops, my bad. English isn't my first language and I am still learning," he said. That explains the thick accent. "Well, that also includes listening wise too." Yep. This explains a lot.
"Oh okay," I replied.
"Well, Rivaille, if you need any help, but let me know! I'm next door. Bye!" he said, then left.
Levi shut the door and Eren rolled his eyes. "He so said butler."
