13. The Marauders Map
It's snowing quite hard these days. On the day of the match, their even was a snow storm. Yet, weather or no weather, their will always be Quidditch. The whole school dressed themselves nice warm before taking a seat in the rostrum. In the dress room, Hamblin spoke to the team. "This match is very important - all matches are. But this one is extra important because we have to defeat Slytherin. I have all faith in you, we practiced alot. Morrison (our seeker), it won't be easy for you because of the storm... But please, do not disappoint me. Now, let's go. We have a game to win." James and I nodded to eachother; for courage. We will never admit it, but we were both very nervous. Under loud acclaim of Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, we entered the Field. Actually, the entire school doesn't want Slytherin wins - except Slytherin ofcourse. It was hard to see anything through the storm. The 2 captains gave eachother a hand. The look in their eyes was almost deathly. Madame Hooch released the Snitch, which was almost invisible because of the weather. She released the Quaffle - the game begins. James raced after the Quaffle and catched it before the Chasers of Slytherin reached it. He passed the Quaffle to the other Chasers of Gryffindor and within a fiew minutes, Gryffindor scored 10 points. One of the Beaters of Slytherin smashed the Bludger towards James. I raced after it and just in time, I smashed the Bludger towards one of Slytherins' Chasers. A fiew minutes later, Gryffindor scored again. The match was exciting. About 10 minutes later, it was 40-30 for Gryffindor. Yet, Morrison noticed the Snitch at last. It was now 40-40. Slytherin's seeker noticed Morrison and raced after him. It was a neck and neck race. Yet, Morrison was quicker and caught the Snitch. Gryffindor wins!
After the match, we showered and ate dinner. Everybody was in their best humor - except Slytherin. In the common room, Gryffindor celebrated. We drank alot of Butterbeer. Brightman - who is in the fifth year is the son of the owner of The Three Broomsticks. We ate lots of candy. It was almost like we've won the Housecup. Even though we're not there yet. At 2.00 am, Mcgonagall said that if we didn't go immediately to bed, she would punish every single one of us. And we bloody well knew she would do that so we went straight to bed.
Ah, finally weekend. We didn't have lots of homework since it's only the first week after the holidays. That gave me more time to work on the Map. I went to the Restricted Section and before lunch, I finally finished it. James, Sirius and Peter still went to professor Mcgonagall every saturday to learn how to tranform themselves. James and Sirius were better than Peter, yet they still had a long way to go. After lunch, we went to the Shrieking Shack. Now the Map is complete, but we still have to add a fiew spells. Sorry, the spells are top-secret. We hid under the Cloak before we reached the Womping Willow. After about 10 minutes, we entered the Shrieking Shack. The spells were pretty complicated; yet James succeeded. And finally, the Marauders Map is finished. We are so brillant to come up with a password. Actually, the Map is just some peace of parchment. Well, that's how it looks like. When you point with your wand at the Map and say: "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good"; only then you can ready it. And when you say: "Mischief managed"; it's again an ordinary piece of parchment.
