James Potter and the Marauders

James, Sirius, Remus and Peter are attending their second year at Hogwarts -witchcraft and wizardry. Find out what will happen this year.

7. Bad day

Sirius' p.o.v.:

Remus and Peter were already in the classroom of Defends Against the Dark Arts. James and I agreed to skip the lesson. On our way, we crossed Snevilly. James pushed him. "You should be in your class." Said Snevilly, you could hear he was scared. "Mind your own business, Snevilly!" I said and I hit him with my fist in his eye. He tried to cover his face with his hands. We saw he was crying; I hit him pretty hard. That will teach him! "Potter! Black! What are you doing here?" It was professor Mcgonagall. James and I didn't have time to escape. Then, she saw Snevilly lying on the ground; crying. "Severus, what happened?" He didn't say anything, he just pointed at us. Professor Mcgonagall turned around and looked a us. I never saw her so angry before. Her face showed how angry she was, but her voice was calm, icy calm. "To my office. Both of you. Now!" James and I drained to her office. We didn't say a word. Ten minutes later, professor Mcgonagall entered her office. James and I looked at our feet. "What did you do to mister Snape? And don't you dare to lie to me!" James and I didn't say anything. "Are you deaf? What did you do to him?!" First, her voice was calm, now, she was almost screaming. "I pushed him." said James. And I... hit him." I finished. It was better to be honest. It would only make it worse to lie right now. "And why on earth did you do that?" ... "Listen, all the teachers know you guys bully mister Snape. I say it should be enough. I take 50 points from Gryffindor and you get both a month detention. Potter, I know you still have one week of detention to go, so the detention will start next week." "But professor..." "That's my final word, Potter."

James' p.o.v.:

Our next lesson was Potions. I didn't say anything. Sirius knew I wasn't in the mood to talk so he was silence as well. When we entered the Potions classroom, Remus and Peter were looking at us but we ignored them. "Today, I'm going to teach you how to brew the Sleeping Draught. It is a potion that causes the drinker to fall almost instantaneously into a deep but temporary sleep. But beware, it is very powerful." We followed the instructions from our Potions Book. As usual, my potion didn't work at all. Potions is one of my worst subjects. Actually, Sirius and I wanted to skip this lesson as well. But I think we've caused enough troubles for one day. "Mister Potter, when are you going to learn to follow the steps in the book?" "I do! I do that every time! It just never works!" "So you assert this book is wrong?" "No!" "Ten points from Gryffindor!" I ran out of the classroom. Since the training, everything is going wrong. Luckily, I didn't have any lessons anymore. I ran to the common room, and then to my bed. I just wanted to be alone. Sirius came in. As I already thought, he followed me. "Leave me alone." "You know I'm not going to do that." "I just want to be alone, okay?" I said to Sirius. "Why?" "Because everything is going wrong and I hate it!" I screamed. "Oh, okay... Then I'll just... leave you." Sirius said and he left the room. "Sirius, wait! Sorry, I shouldn't have screamed to you. I'm sorry." "It's okay. Just rest." I nodded and he left. Maybe it's not such a bad idea to rest.

Remus' p.o.v.:

In the common room, Sirius explained everything. Ten minutes before dinner, we decided to wake up James. "Do you feel better?" Sirius asked. "A little bit." After dinner, we returned to the common room. "Potter!" Lily said behind us. James ignored her and kept on walking. "Potter, you listen to me now!" Lily said and she grabbed his arm. "What if I don't?" "Oh, I bet you will." "No, I won't." James said. "Yes, you will! What did you do to Severus?" Ugh, just leave me alone!" James said. Now, he is angry. "Besides, it's not your business." Sirius said calm. "Oh really? What makes you think that? I'm his best friend, remember. Now, tell me. What did you do to him?" "We have discussed what happened and as mister Black says, it is not your business, miss Evans." Professor Mcgonagall suddenly joined the conversation. "Miss Evans, I think the best thing you can do is leave mister Potter. Now, have a nice day." Luckily for us, Lily couldn't breathe fire. Otherwise, we'd be death. We still talked alot in the common room and went to bed.
