“I’m in London; we could meet for lunch tomorrow.’

“Do you realise that I am nearly four hours away?’

“Do you have other plans?’

“No but…

“Good she interrupted him I will meet you outside of Kings Cross tomorrow at twelve thirty.’

“Alright twelve thirty tomorrow; I will be there.’

“Au revoir James.’

 “Good bye Miss Moreau.’

James put down the phone then went to his room and took down a case and began to pack some clean clothes.

He rang the club to ask if Rob Mason was still there and there was a silence until Rob answered.’

Hi Rob it’s me, do you think you can put me up at your house for a few days?’

“No problem Jim.’

“We got the money from the IUS.’

“I’ve got to collect it from their representative; I’m having lunch with her tomorrow.’

“What’s she like?’

“I don’t know; she sounds very young, she’s French.’

“Oh la la.’ What’s her name?’

“Selene Moreau,’

Selene; very nice you never know mate she might be a bit of French fancy.’

“Don’t be daft; this is purely professional.’ I’m only going down there to get the cheque.’

It will take three or four days to clear before I can draw some cash out to pay Byron for those aqua lungs.’ I can then meet him in London and pay him.’ Birmingham isn’t far from London.’

“You can bunk here tonight we have a camp bed you can sleep on.’ Get yourself back to my house now.’

“Do you want supper as we are going for fish and chips?’

“No thanks I will be awake all night if I eat now.’ “No bloody snoring or you will be sleeping outside mind.’

“Rob laughed and then he hung up.’

It was twenty minutes later when Rob knocked on the door. James had got the camp bed out and put a spare pillow and bed covers on it.

“He walked in with a huge parcel of fish and chips for everyone.’

James hated to waste good food so he took a portion. Martha and William thanked Rob for his kindness and they talked and talked until it was one in the morning when they both had gone to bed and were both snoring away within twenty minutes of hitting the sack.
