It was kind of amusing to see the look on his face after not seeing me for some time. "You called, I came." I said. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything important." Ian was still silent. Guess he was trying to figure out whether or not he was dreaming.
Maybe he couldn't believe that I would show my face again after what happened between us. After all, I was the only one who packed up my stuff and left. "I... No, you're not. I asked Tricia to cancel my appointments." Why did he sound nervous to see me all of a sudden?
This wasn't like him. Shouldn't I be the nervous wreck? I figured it all disappeared when I entered the room. I suddenly felt confident about my decision to come here in the first place. I wasn't going to back down any time soon.
"Oh good. I have to discuss something with you anyway." I entered the room and closed the door behind me. "So, I received your message when I was in New York. I'm just wondering... did Harry give you my number? I mean, he was the only person I saw in New York that I gave my number to."
"Are you going to be here for long?" There's that bossy attitude that I was just waiting for. "I have important things to do than just be here all day Aly."
"Aly. Wow, you haven't used that nickname in a long time. I'm curious about who that woman was."
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Louis, I think you know. You can't seem to get your hands off of those brunettes. I think you have a type for them. What's her name? Where does she live? What's her social security? I'd like to know everything about her."
"Just leave. I'm not going to put up with you." said he. I scoffed lightly and shook my head. I was tired of playing the nice girl. I walked over to him and slapped him across the face. He didn't do anything. He just stood there. This was his reaction?
"That woman is Eleanor. Isn't it? You're seeing her. You saw her while we were together, right? She's the reason we're in this mess. She's the reason why I decided to drop everything and leave. She's the reason my friends aren't talking to me anymore because it's your fault. You can't keep a serious relationship. So when you feel like things aren't going the way you want, you decide to move on to another girl. I loved you Louis. You made it perfectly clear that you weren't ready for a commitment. I'm tired of waiting around for you. If you want to be with her, then so be it." I turned and headed towards the door.
When I placed my hand on the knob, Louis called out to ask me why I came here. I turned and looked at him and said, "You're smart, figure it out Tomlinson." He walked over to me and pressed me against the door of his office. He pressed his lips against mine.
His hands moved down to my hips. I felt him reach over and lock the door. I wrapped my arms around his neck. He lifted my leg to wrap around his waist. I jumped a bit when he held me up. He carried me over to the couch in the room.
He had gotten on top of me and resume to kiss me. Moments later, I found myself naked on the floor of his office. Louis was lying right beside me. "Shall we go for round two?" He glanced over at me with a smirk. I rolled my eyes and let out a sigh.
I sat up and proceeded to get dressed. While I was getting dressed, I noticed the couch in his office. I asked him when he got the couch. He told me that he had just recently renovated the office. "Huh, I figured as much." I put on my shirt and pulled up my skirt.
Louis had gotten up and started to get dressed as well. He was just fixing up his tie in the mirror placed on the wall. He dressed fast. Guess I was too busy searching where my articles of clothing were. "Let's have lunch." He suggested.
"I'm meeting up with Liam." That sounded a bit abrupt. Louis nodded and put on his jacket. He walked over to the door to unlock and open it. I pulled my hair back into a ponytail. "If you're free tonight, we-"
"Eleanor's expecting for me to be home for dinner." He interrupted. Well, fair is fair. He took notice of my silence. I hadn't moved from my spot. So Eleanor was living with him now. It's good to know that he didn't sleep alone at night. He pulled out his hand from his pocket.
I saw that he was holding keys. "Take my car. I would hate you walking everywhere or taking the cab."
"I can't take your car."
"I insist. Just bring it back before five." He placed the car keys in my hand. I thanked him and walked out of his office. I headed to the elevator. When I stepped inside, I waited until the doors closed to start crying. I didn't want him to see me upset.
I gave him a piece of my mind before having sex with him in his office. A part of me still cared about him. I didn't want him to be with Eleanor. It sounded selfish, considering I'm not his girlfriend anymore. My phone rang. I took it out and saw that Liam and texted me the place where we were meeting for lunch.
I took the elevator down to the main lobby and exited the building. I got into Louis' car and began the drive to the restaurant. I parked the car when I arrived. Liam wasn't alone. He brought Sophia with him and Zayn. I squealed instantly when I saw my friends.
We all hugged and sat down at the table Liam had secured for us. "You have to tell me about New York." said Sophia. It was good to know that my friends have forgiven me for what I did. I told them that I had spent the holidays with Harry and his family.
"i'm staying at his place for the moment. Until I find a job, I'm his house guest." I said. Zayn suggested for me to work for Niall. The last they heard from Niall was three weeks ago when he was hiring. Zayn said that Niall hadn't found anyone to fill the open position that he was looking for.
I brought up the topic about he and Sophia being absent at Louis' company. "You went to see him? I wish I was working on the same floor as Louis. He shifted a few of us around on different floors. He has this policy of putting the newbies on his floor so he can keep an eye on them." I silently thanked Sophia for the clarification. I mentioned that I saw Eleanor earlier today.
"She visits Louis every day. I wonder if he gets tired of her." said Zayn.
"Louis indirectly mentioned that they're living together. Are they staying at the house?"
"They're staying at Eleanor's place." It had been a while since Liam had spoken since I arrived at the restaurant. After lunch, I bid goodbye to Liam. Sophia, Zayn, and I decided to head back to the company. I had to return his car anyway.
The three of us entered the building and entered the elevator. We were talking about the house in Malibu. It shouldn't bother me that the house wasn't being used, but it did. Zayn and Sophia got off on separate floors.
I did mention that they should stop by Harry's place later to some more catching up before resuming the climb to the fourteenth floor. The doors opened. Louis' office door was now closed. I was about to walk over, but Tricia had said that Louis was currently with someone.
I decided to wait until the person walked out. After about a five minute wait time, the door opened and out stepped - "Harry?" It was definitely a surprise to see him here. Harry said that he was on lunch break and wanted to stop by for a visit. "To see Louis?" asked I.
"Yeah, he called and said that he had some things to discuss with me. I'll see you at home. Bye Aly." Harry kissed my cheek before heading off towards the elevator. I entered Louis' office. He was at his desk, which is a rare commodity these days.
He looked up from his computer. He smiled when he saw me. I told him that I came to return the keys. "The house is open if you're deciding on-" I interrupted by mentioning to him that I'm not in LA for long and would have to get back to my job soon.
"New York Times, right? I read a few articles you wrote, and I must say that I'm greatly impressed. I don't know why I thought of having you work here. What a waste."
"I love working here. Loved. I meant, loved." I looked down. I was still holding the set of keys in my hand. Finally deciding to set them down on his desk, Louis insisted that I move back into the house. I told him that my stuff were at Harry's place.
He nodded and told me that I was welcome to move back in at any time. I thanked him before bidding him goodbye. I felt Louis grab my arm. Guess I could never leave Louis' office without a reason for him to ask me to stay longer. "Come and work for me again." said he.
I turned to look at him. I could see the sincerity in his eyes. Also, the look of willing for us to try again. Though after seeing Eleanor earlier today bothered me. "I know you're bothered by the thought of me being with Eleanor. I'll tell you everything you need to know about her. I would just like for you to be here."
"What kind of job would you give me?"
"The one you had. It's as if you've never left the company." He added that I can always call if I decide to change my mind about what he had offered me. Louis picked up the keys from the desk and handed them back to me.
He told me to take the car and drive back to Harry's place. He said I would need the car. After all, I left mine at my parents' house. When our short conversation ended, I left the company building and drove to Harry's place. I parked right outside the condo.
Harry's car wasn't in the parking lot. I figured that he was still at work. I took out the key that Harry had left me and entered. Later that night, I couldn't sleep. Harry was fast asleep in his room. I was afraid of waking him. I couldn't stop thinking about the interaction between Louis and I.
His kisses are always to die for. I got out of bed and exited the guest room. I opened the doors to the patio and sat down on the chair. I held my phone in my hand and scrolled through my contacts list. It was 2 am in the morning. I couldn't sleep. After seeing Louis today, there was a small glimmer of hope that we would be together again one day.
