As soon as I got home I ran upstairs and tried to maintain myself. I sat down on the bed and tried to process everything that just happened. I can't believe that I ran into Justin Bieber in Target and that he actually told me that I was beautiful. ME!
I looked at all of the posters on my wall of Justin and imagined that all of my dreams would come true.
Just as I was daydreaming I got a text message. I immediately grabbed my phone off of the charger and read the message.
Unknown Number: Hey baby girl, it's Justin
AAAAHHHHHHH! He called me baby girl!
Jessica: Hey Justin! :)
Justin: How are you doing?
Jessica: Still trying to breathe.
Justin: Haha, you're cute ;)
Jessica: You're sweet
I couldn't help but scream. I cannot believe that this is actually happening
Justin: What are you doing tomorrow night?
Jessica: I don't think I'm doing anything actually
Justin: Well then would you want to maybe go see a movie with me?
Jessica: of course!
Justin: Great! I'll be over around 5. Address?
Jessica: 3435 Palm Tree Way
Justin: See you tomorrow baby girl :)
Oh my god! I have a date with Justin fricken Bieber!
I immediately texted Emily and told her what happened. She told me that she was on her way over so we could talk in person.
About twenty minutes later Emily showed up at my house with some candy and chips.
"So I want to know everything!" Emily shouted, ripping open a bag of Cool Ranch Doritos.
"Well he texted me and called me baby girl!" I said with a giant smile.
"AHHH OH MY GOD!"
"I know! So then he asked me if I was free tomorrow night and I said yeah, and then he asked me to see a movie."
"I don't know, I didn't ask."
"You should have asked. If it's a scary movie you are so lucky! Just imagine him holding you when you're scared. So cute!"
"I would assume that I'm lucky either way. I mean, I have a date with Justin Bieber, that's pretty fucking lucky."
"You're right!" she giggled. "Oh my gosh, what are you going to wear?"
"I don't know. Oh my gosh, I didn't even think about that."
Emily got up from the bed and pulled me into my closet. She started pulling clothes off of the hanger and throwing them at me.
"Try these on."
An hour later I had tried on probably 30 different outfits, and we couldn't decide on anything for me to wear.
"We will just go shopping tomorrow." Emily said.
The Next Morning
Emily woke me up at 8 a.m. insisting that we should go shopping. She seems more excited than I am.
I rolled out of bed, threw on some mascara, pulled my hair back, brushed my teeth, and told my mom that I would be back later. I grabbed the keys to my car and Emily and I headed for the mall.
At the mall we were barely finding anything that was cheap and cute, so we left and went to Kohls, my favorite store.
There I tried on a really cute dress with a flowery pattern and tied around my neck. It came down to just above my knees and was super flowy and extremely adorable.
"I think this is it!" I said to Emily.
"I am so proud." she said reaching her arms out for a hug. "Let's go find you some shoes."
We walked to the shoes section and found the cutest pair of nude flats that matched my dress almost perfectly. After we checked out it was already noon and I had five hours to kill.
Emily and I decided that we would go to Target again to find some makeup that I had been wanting to buy. Now I had the perfect excuse.
I don't usually wear makeup because I'm pretty comfortable without it. The only makeup I have is mascara and eyeliner, but this is a pretty big deal so I should probably try a little harder to look nice.
At Target I bought foundation, concealer, blush, eyeshadows, and a nude/pink lip gloss.
I dropped Emily off at her house and came home and got ready.
I was in my room looking at my self in the mirror when I noticed a white car pull up in my driveway. I walked down the stairs and put my hand on the door knob. My heart was racing and I started getting sweaty. This night should be perfect.
I opened the front door and I saw Justin getting out of his car. He was wearing a button up shirt with some nice jeans and Supras. Not only did he look spectacular, he was carrying beautiful red roses.
He looked over at me and smiled.
"These are for you." he said walking up onto my front porch. "Pretty flowers for a pretty girl" he added.
I could tell that I was blushing, so I quickly grabbed the flowers and took them inside.
"You can come inside." I said.
He walked inside and sat down on the couch. Just then my mom came downstairs with a gaping smile on her face.
"You're Justin Bieber!" she yelled.
Justin laughed and nodded.
"You're the mystery guy that's taking my daughter out tonight?"
"Wow. She loves you. I mean...she REALLY loves you!"
I walked into the living room and interrupted my mom.
"Mom, that's enough." This is so embarrassing.
"No, it's okay." He chuckled.
"Bye mom." I said walking out of the front door.
"I'm so sorry about her. That's really embarrassing."
"Don't worry about it baby." He winked.
He opened up the passenger door for me and walked over to the driver's seat.
"I hope you like horror movies." He said as we pulled out of the driveway.
We are going to see a horror movie? YES!
"I love them." I smiled.
"You look really beautiful." He said looking in my eyes.
"Really? Thanks. I'm not used to wearing this much makeup."
"You look stunning. And by the way, you don't need makeup."
Once again I find myself blushing so I cover my face and collect myself.
"You're really cute when you blush" he said.
"You're really cute" I replied.
He smiled his beautiful smiled and I couldn't help but smile too. He's so beautiful. I'm so lucky.
"So I know I just met you and this is probably weird for you. I don't usually ask girls out like that, but I saw you and I just couldn't miss the opportunity."
"I really don't mind, at all. I can't believe that any of this is real. For as long as I can remember I would listen to your music in my room and scream the lyrics at the top of my lungs. Never in a million years did I think that you would ask me out. Never did I think that you would even notice me."
"Why wouldn't I notice you? I could notice your blue eyes from thirty miles away. You drew me in. If anyone should be in awe it should be me, and believe me, I am." Suddenly his right arm reached over and landed on my thigh. This is how I knew I wasn't dreaming.
I put my hand on top of his and took it off hesitantly. Just then he looked over at me.
"Don't be scared baby." he smiled.
I put my hand back down on top of his and rubbed his knuckles. After a couple of deep breaths I was getting used to this.
After being in the car for about thirty minutes I asked where we were going. I didn't recognize anything near us, and I knew there wasn't a movie theater around.
A couple of minutes later we pulled into a dirt lot where there were a bunch of cars parked.
"Ever been to a drive in movie?" he asked.
As we entered the lot I saw a bunch of giant screens and a building near the entrance where I guess there was food and bathrooms.
Now that I'm looking around, I probably didn't have to dress up so nicely.
We pulled up behind some cars and parked.
"So since you've never been to one of these, I'll explain it to you. I'm supposed to flip through radio stations and find the one that play's the audio for the movie, then we just watch."
"Wow, that's pretty cool."
"Now we just wait for the movie to start. Are you hungry?"
"Yeah, a little bit."
"Okay, let's go." He got out of the car and as quickly as he could ran over to my side and opened the door for me.
"Such a gentleman" I commented.
We walked over to order food. Justin got a cheeseburger while I ordered some nachos and popcorn for us to share. A couple of girls recognized Justin and came up to him. He took a couple of pictures and we made our way back to the car.
Justin took a bite of his burger and tried making conversation.
"So tell me about yourself."
"Um well my full name is Jessica Elaine Bradford. I'm 20 years old, born October 15th. I'm going to college for culinary and I graduate in a little over a year. I stay in the dorms on the weekdays and on the weekends I come to stay with my mom. My dad died when I was 17 because he had a heart attack, so I come visit my mom whenever I can."
"Wow, I'm so sorry." he said putting his hand on mine. Immediately my heart started racing.
"It's okay. Um... I was born in Colorado but we moved here for my dad's work. My mom works at a McDonalds, she doesn't make a lot of money, just enough to get by. My dream is to open up my own bakery and make enough money so that my mom doesn't have to work anymore."
"Yeah. Oh, it looks like the movie is starting."
Justin pushed his chair back and laid it back so that he could lay down and see the screen, so I did the same.
The movie we were watching was The Visit. I had never seen it, but I had been dying to and there is no one else I would rather see it with.
As soon as the movie started I began to doze off. I hadn't gotten much sleep due to the excitement that I had for this date. Just as I was almost completely asleep a noise so loud made me jump awake.
Justin didn't notice that I was asleep and assumed that I was scared, so he grabbed my hand and rubbed my knuckles.
About twenty minutes into the movie I began to get scared. It was the scene where the kids were playing under the house and their grandma came down there and scared them. I turned my head, closed my eyes, and squeezed Justin's hand for comfort. He began rubbing my knuckles and turned over to me.
"Hey...hey!" he said, trying to get me to open my eyes. I very slowly opened my eyes and looked at him. "Whenever you get scared just look at me. It will help."
I nodded my head and went back to watching the movie. A couple minutes later the movie started to scare me again, so I turned my head and looked at Justin. Even though he didn't notice that I was looking at him, I found comfort in watching him watch the movie. He is beautiful even from the side. Even when he isn't paying attention. Even when he isn't trying to be. But he is.
I continued watching the movie and about ten minutes later the movie started getting freakier and freakier. I started getting goosebumps on my arms and chills down my spine. I squeezed Justin's hand, closed my eyes, and turned my head to face Justin. He let go of my hand and placed his hand on my cheek.
"Hey, it's okay. You're okay." he said softly. I opened my eyes and looked at him. "Are you okay? Do you need a blanket? You feel cold."
"Yeah, a blanket might help." I replied.
He got up out of the car and went into his trunk where he pulled out a big fuzzy blanket. He got back in the car and handed it to me.
"Here, let me cover you." He unfolded the blanket and covered me up. "There, nice and cozy" he smiled.
After getting warmed up again I began to watch the movie.
A couple of minutes later when the grandma jumped in front of the camera I jumped out of my seat and gripped Justin's hand tightly.
He looked at me with a smile and giggled at me. I was trying to catch my breath and I slapped his hand,"
"You're mean! I'm really scared." I said
"You're cute when you're scared" he smiled
He sat up and ran his hands in my hair. My heart rate was still fast. Not because I was scared anymore, but because I knew what was about to happen.
He put his hand on the back of my neck and leaned in as close to me as he could without toughing me. I could feel his breath on my nose and he put his other hand on the back of my neck. I looked deep into his eyes and prepared myself.
He softly pressed his lips against mine, and I pressed mine against his.
I swear my heart skipped a beat the second I felt his lips on mine. His soft, smooth lips.
After a couple of seconds he pulled away and removed his hands from the back of my neck.
"I'm sorry...I don't usually kiss girls on the first date, but I had the urge, so I did. I'm sorry. I understand it I made you uncomfortable." he apologized.
"No no no. You did not make me uncomfortable. If anything, I feel much more comfortable now."
"Good." He winked.
We laid back down in our seats and continued to watch the movie. For the rest of the movie Justin held my hand, and after the movie was over we pulled the seats forward and left the drive in theater.
"Is there a time you need to be back home?" he asked, his hand resting on my thigh.
"No. My mom works the night shifts so I'm okay to be out as long as I want."
"Good, because it's only 8:30 and I'm in the mood for some ice cream. Do you like ice cream?"
"I LOVE ice cream!"
"Good, because I have the perfect place."
We sat in silence for a couple of minutes until Justin broke the silence.
"So are you sure that you didn't mind that kiss? Because if you did I won't do it again."
"Were you going to kiss me again?" I asked with butterflies in my stomach.
"I mean...yeah, at some point." he smiled.
"I don't mind." I smiled back. I knew that I was blushing, so it's a good thing that it's dark outside.
We pulled up into the parking lot of an ice cream parlor called Milk. Once again Justin ran over to my door and opened it for me. I jumped out of the car and we walked into the shop. There are so many choices of ice cream to chose from and so many goodies. The place smells like heaven.
"You order first." Justin insisted.
"Um, okay. I will have a medium bowl of Cookie Dough ice cream."
"And I will have a large cone of Cotton Candy."
After we got our ice cream we went back into the car and ate.
"How's your ice cream?" he asked
"Really really great." I smiled.
"I know this is our first date and everything but I really like you Jessica."
"I like you too."
"Would you like to go out again next weekend?"
"Yeah, of course."
After we finished our ice cream he drove me home. He walked me up my balcony and gave me a hug.
"Don't look under your bed." he joked as he walked to his car.
