16. Chapter Sixteen
RECAP:When I parked my car, more people were staring at me then usually. 'I wonder if its from the show just being released, or cause I look like I hadn't seen my girlfriend in 13 days 6 hours, and I looked down at my watch, 23 minutes.
It’s been almost 2 weeks since I last saw her. But I’d kept my promise. I was here with Victoria at the Clinic. She was grinning from cheek to cheek, swinging my hand in hers. I hadn’t realized the difference between Druid’s and Victoria hands. Victoria’s were so tiny and fragile, but they were warm. While Druids were like satin silk and cold, but she always had me to warm her up.
This felt so wrong I was supposed to be home with Druid now on Peaky Blinders or Home on Netflix, with her arms wrapped around me. Hearing her laugh, omg it is the most methodical sound in the world. I should be snugged under a cover with her, watching horror shows.......That's how I feel like I'm in a horror story trapped in basement, and my way out is something written in a saw movie.
Even though I think Victoria is a total bitch at this moment. I still opened the door her as we walked to the service desk."Hello, how may I help the happy couple.” The clerk at the desk said
I let her hand go. “Were not a couple. We have an appointment with Dr. Irving for Victoria.”
“Oh yes, here’s the doctor now.” She said pointing to middle-aged man with fiery red hair
“Hello Dr. Irving, I’m Xavier.” I said shaking his hand
“Oh you're the bloke I talked to on the telly, it’s nice to put a name to a face.” He said adjusting his glass, he must be British
“And you must be Victoria.” He said final acknowledging her presence. “The room is down the hall.” He said leading the way
Victoria had stripped and dressed into a hospital gown. The doctor was finished prodding us with needles and had a special needle to draw blood from the baby. As we were sitting there waiting for Dr. Irving to come back she said something very disturbing.
“I’ve been waiting so long for this were finally gonna have a family, together.” She said
I lifted my head from hands. “Victoria just stop....You agreed to move on, I've moved on. I found my other half in Druid, and after these results prove I’m not the father, I never want to see you again." I swear I could hear the pain and suffering in my own voice.
The doctor walked in holding the test results with an inconclusive vibe. I liked how Dr. Irving never wasted a beat. "Xavier isn't the father of your unborn child.”
I couldn’t hold in my grin. This meant I could finally be with her. “Doctor could I get a copy of those. It would mean the world to me.” I said standing up, shaking his hand
“Here,” he handed me the paperwork. “Just take this to Janice at the desk, and she’ll get you all sorted out.” Dr. Irving said
I bolted for the door. Before I knew it I had a copy of the blood work and the polygraph in a envelope. I put my car and drive and speed down the highway. I’m surprised I hadn’t been pulled over already. Before long I was pulling into Druid’s driveway. She looked so upset. She was sitting on the porch watching Mulan and Kit play.
